I heard someone mention how playing Winston now would expose him for better or worse and that could actually hurt the Saints if they did end up keeping Winston.

But if you don't start him you have no idea how much you should invest in him.

If the idea is to let him walk and get a 3rd round comp pick it makes sense to sit him. If we are seriously considering him as our future qb it makes no sense.

Yup.
The people putting this move down to money are idiots IMO. At this stage of the season and Drews career its all about a win. Period.
If Taysom plays poorly I'm sure he will get the hook with a quickness.

We’re gonna run the wishbone/veer option all over the falcons.

I’m happy Taysom finally gets his chance. I know there’s some people who wanted crab legs to start and he still may end up there but we need to see if Taysom can run the offense. If he can’t fine but you have to see first. I’d expect a lot of short, high percentage passes and lots of QB power. Maybe Sean puts some RPO into the plan. It will be interesting if nothing else. This is a good time to get MT going with the slant game. That route is almost indefensible when it’s on the money.

Falcons won't expect to see 1 of the military academies coming at them with the triple option all day long

Latavius up the middle
Taysom off tackle
Kamara to the boundary

with the occasional pass sprinkled in there for shits & giggles

I believe this is because Jameis does not know the offense. When they were calling plays during the niners game it seemed like Jameis was a bit lost. They used multiple timeouts because they couldn’t get the play called. Taysom knows the offense and I think that’s why Payton makes this choice. If Jameis had been here a year I think he would be starting.

I don't know if this is true, but Jameis was a disaster on Sunday. It worked out, but more than once he almost threw the ball to the 49ers in a spot where the ONLY THING YOU CAN'T DO is turn it over.

Almost a turnover ( )

Taysom Hill fumbled 2 times last week on his 8 touches !!!!!!!!!! 4 fumbles on 40 touches this season

Yeah his turnovers and 50% passing percentage in college has my so fired up. If youve actually paid attention to taysom when they have allowed him to throw you would be very concerned. I’ve never seen a backup qb or any qb unable to go through his progressions like taysom can’t. It’s one read and then run. Majority of the throws hes made in college snd even the few in the nfl are pretty innacurate.

If Taysom was signed to the $4.6 QO, that no one bidded against, this wouldn’t even be entertained

Have you ever seen Taysom throw a quick slant? There’s a reason for that

Anyone else feel like this is a smoke screen?

I think Hill won’t make it out to the 2nd quarter as the QB.

Makes sure Atlanta prepares for a completely different QB if you put it out correctly in the media.

We also play ATL two times in three weeks. Who is to say we dont mix and match? Seems like they are taking this one game at a time.

You are grasping at straws because you've shifted on taysom from the beginning

I'm not saying taysom is going to do great but I did say they gave him that contract for a reason.
You were wrong. Just take it like a man

Between Taysom and Kamara, we might rush for 350 yards

The throw that jameis made on the almost interception was a pre determined throw.

That was where the play was designed to go.
Both players will turn the ball over.

Does anyone not agree with that?
Did everyone see jameis in the pocket?

Taysom is def loose with the ball
I'll be nervous everytime him and Kamara run the read option
