Wouldn’t be surprised if we traded up from that second round pick either.
If we can come away with a starting OT, WR, and S or DT, I’d consider that a home run draft.

Excuse me but B4 2009 Mickey is the one who called the
shots,he built that SB team.SP got the power after that.
The Saints free agency and drafting under Mickey were
pretty good After the SB PAYTON made alot of crappy free
agent and drafting decisions.SP wanted Rick Reprish not
Mickey,then they went out and got JI ,but only after SP`s

Sean Payton may be one of the worst HC talent evaluators in the league.
There are many deniers on this board.
Jeff Ireland saved this team and will do better with payton gone.

I think the key is that Loomis is saying top 20-25 on their board. Not three in the top 25 players.
So the way that works is they know the guys that are not going to be on the board past #10 so why list them on your board. Then you start ranking positions of need.
So in essence the Saints 25th player on their board might be the 8th best WR available who they have ahead of the 7th rated DE.

I fully expect them to get 3 potential starters. There is a wealth of talent at DT, WR and O-line. They can potentially draft 3 starters to rookie contracts in this one draft. Our needs happen to fall to the strengths of this draft.

Saints are going to move up in the 2nd. I’d put big money on it. This seems like the draft where they want people to think they made that trade to make another to move up for a QB when in reality this is the draft they are looking to find 3 or 4 starting players in the in the first 3 rounds. Unless you’re just completely sold on one of the QBs you have too many holes to plug around the team to waste a bunch of picks to move up another 3-5 spots in the 1st round.

I think there going to move their 2nd round pick to get another pick in the first too. It would be an A+ draft to get Corral at 16 , Cross or Penning at 19, and then trade back into the first for either Jameson Williams, Christian Watson, or Chris Olave.

If we do this and the trade is b/c we project our scouting is that much better, that's some big dick energy at work.
That may be the first time in my life a team has made that sort of move. Pundits heads would explode.

I feel like we aren’t talking about big Jordan Davis enough. Can see Allen falling in love with him to plug the middle of that defense. Davis and Onyemata is legit.

As good as the defense was the one weak area was the interior d-line. They did well against the run but failed to get that push up the middle that keeps the Q.B. from stepping up in the pocket.

I love Jordan Davis but I’ve said before in the past. There is not much value in drafting dt in the first round. Outside of Donald, they don’t impact the game enough to warrant a first round pick. And the bust rate is the highest of any position outside of qb.
It’s why I didn’t like the Rankins pick when we made it. Said there woukd likely be better DT’s drafted later in the draft and of course I was right. Onyamata has been better and we got him in the 4th that year.
Wyatt or Leal in the 2nd would be better value.

If this is a draft with a high variance of opinion on who is in the top 25, and you are confident that there will be people in YOUR top 25 much later, then this isn't the right draft to acquire 2 high picks.
