Going to really suck when we end up tanking to get Caleb Williams, draft him, then he requests a trade forcing the Saints to trade him or out of the pick in the draft.

As a rule only the 1st overall pick has had the leverage to force a trade, but Caleb at #1 to NOLA strikes me (knowing he has a helicopter dad) as he’d force the trade.

You didn’t see SP lining up an interview with Woods.

Now all they need to do is sign Carr and New Orleans will be Raiders South soon enough.

i think allen just wants someone to babysit his defense. doesn't look like he's interested in having a dc who wants to do their own thing.

Not defending the hiring, but why would that be relevant. Payton needs someone that can run the defense on their own, under his direction for the team. Allen needs someone to complement his style and play calling and needs an OC that can run the offense on their own, under his direction.

He improved them his first year, and he has a really good defense last season. This season they fell off, but they weren't horrible

Biggest issue was talent. They had no DIs of note, which killed their run game.

This was a management/personnel decision

But slow starts hampered the Browns' defense the past two seasons. At one point in mid-October this season, Cleveland ranked 31st in defensive efficiency. A porous run defense especially hurt the Browns. Cleveland finished next to last in the league in defensive total rush expected points added (minus-23.11).

Great hire DA

This thread has been way more level-headed than I anticipated.

Worth noting: #Saints assistant secondary coach Cory Robinson, who ran the DB room last season, let his contract expire and is a free agent. A bright young assistant who just coached in the Senior Bowl.

Wonderful

Are you really that moved about losing a guy that we've never heard of?

It’s not really tough to have an average defense if you have Myles Garrett rushing the passer and hitting white qbs in the head with helmets to weaken them.

Do you think if you keep repeating this BS we will believe you

5th in yards per game
9th overall
Look up passing yatds given up if you want

Try completion% of opponents

So I guess put out some stats that backs up your bullshite!

Question: How does one become as good of a coach as Nick Saban?

Answer: Hire failed coaches and rehabilitate them!

24 RYPG which used to be one of our most dominant areas

Low because teams knew they could just run all over them

24 in 3rd down comp % - could never get off the field when it counted

Is philly a good D?
Cause when you get down to it the most important stat period is points given up per game.

Phily 20.2
Saints 20.3 ranked 9th in NFL

You are wrong about our D being crap. Now the offense is a different matter.

Talk about a yes man hire
I bet Nielsen was ready to tell Allen where he can go
The DB play was much better under Richard than before he came to Saints

Pretty deceiving. He was there from 2020-2022. Here's Cleveland's total defense from 2019-2022...

2019 - 22nd
2020 - 17th
2021 - 5th
2022 - 14th

He improved them his first year, and he has a really good defense last season. This season they fell off, but they weren't horrible

Get your facts straight before you coming spewing out bullshite on here.
