61% of 93 possessions. Not too shabby

2011 team scored on 51%
2009 42%

Perhaps. I just wanted to see it in context.

I know 09 and 11 were our best years and this year is apparently blowing them out in scoring efficiency, but if I had to guess the league in general is probably a tick higher than 10 years ago due to the rule changes.

Just wanted something recent to compare them to.

Saints appear to be good at football.

God damn. Wow.

That is impressive as hell. Even if its up across the league due to rule changes (I imagine), that is insane.

They often score more points than their opponents do. That typically means they win the game.

Can confirm. Just looked it up, the Saints are 8-0 this season when scoring more than their opponents.

Can we adjust that percentage for kneel down situations?

I thought about that as well. I’m not sure if they were factored in to the stat but I’d assume they were. How many kneel situations have they have this season?

Interesting. Looked it up and when we won the Super Bowl we were 13-0 when leading at the end of the game during the regular season. Seems to be highly correlated to victory. Hope the coaching staff knows this going forward.

Someone adjusted for our kneel downs, can’t remember who it was but we actually have a 66% scoring rate not 61:

2011 Saints were at 51%. 09 we were at 42 %.

2007 Patriots were 57.7%. 2017 Falcons were at 55%. 2013 Broncos were at 51%

That's scoring on 56 of 93 drives (21 Pass TD, 17 rush TD, 18 made FGs). We also have 7 more drives that ended with time expiring in a half (mostly knell downs)

The 30 undesirable outcomes were: 19 punts, 7 fumbles lost, 1 INT, 1 failed 4th down conversion (10/11 91% on 4th down) 2 missed FGs.

If you include the 7 knell downs that bumps us up to closer to 70%. Unbelievable.

We are scoring on 66% of our drives and are scoring TDs on 68% of the drives we score on. And that is against some of the best teams the NFL has to offer this year.
