If Oakland eats most of his salary for this year, give them a 2nd for him. To put it in perspective...would you rather have another Foskey or DeVante friggin Adams?

He would’ve let the saints in every wr statistic last season and had he played Sunday would have better stats than any wr we have this season

The NFC is really weak. I don’t mind them taking a shot at it this year and next.

Carr stil won't be able to throw to him with a crappy offensive line. Spags is going to tee off on Monday night. Nobody will be able to block Chris Jones

I'll happily cheer for Adams and hope it works out great for us, but I am simply not going to cheer for any win now moves with this franchise with our current HC, QB and cap issues. I just don't see that working out. I'd rather have the ammunition for a rebuild when we need it.

I also don't see how we can make this work financially

Well we’ve picked Foskey, Kikaha, Jean-Batiste in round 2. So they waste the pick anyway, rather have Adams…

There's no way you make this move b/w salary, age, compensation.

I don't see how we make this move without sending a top paid player.

I think it ends up being Lattimore. He has been rumored to be shipped out for a while now anyway.

Hate to say it, but another possibility is Kamara with the contract situation.

I don't necessarily think Adams fixes our issues either. I'd probably do it for Lattimore since we are deep at that spot.

Adams signed a 5/140mil deal.
After this year, he would have received 3 years/67.5mil (roughly) - his total guaranteed was 65.67mil

better redo that last 2 year deal because 2/72.5mil is a lot of money to pay along with a 2nd rounder.

Does NFl do trades like mlb? Say saints send a bad contract (cam) and higher compensation for Adams?

ETA... lattimore for Adams

Relying on Williams and Kendre with a thin o line and Carr would likely more than offset any potential gains made from acquiring Adams

For what? We’re not a mid season Devante Adams acquisition at all cost away from going ALL IN

Why did you go back 10 years to find bad picks to justify using a 2nd for a player like Adams?
What about MT13, Vonn Bell, Marcus Williams, McCoy, Werner, Alonte, or Kool-Aid.

Sure, at one point MT was in Devante's stratosphere, but it looks you had to go back 10 years to get up to 3 busts while skipping over 7 quality picks.

The funniest part about this was the team did not have a 2nd rounder in 2020, 2018, 2013, 2012, 2011, 2009, 2007 because they lost 2 to Goodell, but the other 7 were used as a trade asset to move up while they have actually been pretty good drafters in the 2nd round.

Latt is now untradeable for cap reasons.

I was just pointing out the obvious busts, but the only 3 from your list that I’d rather have over Adams is Alonte Werner and McCoy

This is dumb. Hell of a receiver but the saints aren't a receiver away.

His contract is the thing giving me pause.

I'd take him for a 2 or 3 but he is owed like 80 mil.

I bet the saints do it though. I just don't see how they work the money out.
