With Kamara out the first three games, we would be relying on just J Will, and a rookie. It is vital that we start strong. I like that the Saints are prioritizing this. If Hunt plays 40% the first 3 games and only 15% the rest of the way, this is still a win.

Watching the highlights of Hunt in 2022 and the thing that stands out is….Cleveland’s OL is amazing. Not taking away from Hunt, but those were some huge holes.

Saints OL at full health will be a bunch of road graders
If I’m the Saints FO, we are looking at the slate of young, inexperienced QBs on the schedule. We hope our veteran defense clamp these guys.
If things work out like they should we want to finish top 5 in rush attempts which should lead to being on the right side of time if possession. Keep RB legs fresh, you have two hammers (plus Taysom) and 2 versatile guys. Historically Carr protects the ball well, we use the pass as an extension of the run. Here’s your path to 10 wins and the division
RE: Barr - heady vet who you are comfortable getting snaps in a pinch

Barr is the real signing here.

The New Orleans Saints are expected to sign both Kareem Hunt and Anthony Barr, if both players pass their physicals and are in shape, per sources.

Watched a bunch of Hunt highlights…. Surprised by how many times Cleveland used him as a legit downfield receiver

Wtf is going on? It was reported that we signed both of them this morning...now it's looking like both of them might not have actually signed.
What is going on people?

I can see Hunt being enticed by the colts because he can possibly be the starter there.

Yeah reporters really fumbled this one.

Me too. But they already have, even without Hunt

15% is a ton for Hunt when AK gets back, considering he’d probably be the 5th best runner of the football on the team. And it looks like they were trying to get Shaheed involved in the running game before he got hurt, so Hunt may have been the 6th best by Week 4. I don’t think you can keep your 5th or 6th best runner unless they offer you something else somewhere.
I wouldn’t hate it if we eventually do sign him, but I don’t think it makes much sense for him. He’d likely be cut as soon as AK gets back. Forgetting the too many mouths to feed argument, that’s too many roster spots. That 4th RB needs to be a versatile special teams player; and I don’t see Hunt being that.

The ESPN bottom line/ticker just said the Saints are signing Barr. So who knows what is actually going on.
