Yeah this almost has a free agency feel to it. He wants to visit with interested teams to see who he will waive his no trade clause for.

No reason the dude shouldn’t come here.

All Pro LT walking out the door, top 5 FS walking out the door which will hurt D, no WRs besides Thomas and if we acquire him, no money to add other WRs

Not saying it can't happen but saying there are definitely reasons you could talk him out of it

EDIT: since a lot of you can’t seem to read, I’m not saying we don’t have things that would entice Watson to come. The post I replied to said there was NO reason he wouldn’t come so I named some of the reasons that one could come up with. Bunch of sensitive sallies.

Armstead will stay if we get Watson. People need to stop with the narrative of “we dont have cap to resign Armstead.” That’s not how the cap works. If Armstead wants to stay here, we can absolutely keep him.

The Panthers don't have a receiver like Mike Thomas to throw to. I'd think that might be a selling point.
lmao DJ Moore is very talented and younger than Mike the prospect of playing with him is probably more alluring. Though the coaching situation is not in Carolina. DJ Moore has never had a good QB much like Terry Mclaurin.

Saints defense is also a great selling point

Can you franchise a player and then trade their rights?

If so Williams would be a huge trade piece.

Why? Past issues with two dozen allegations of sexual harassment.

Keep in mind it’s not so much as what the Texans like in the offer, it’s where Watson wants to go. So the Panthers can offer all of the picks and players that their little heart desires, but Watson can veto any trade there if he doesn’t want to go. This will all come down to what Watson wants. He controls the market here.

Yeah that's why Russ Wilson isn't in DC right now and why Denver gave up less than what it was reported to cost.

Hopefully the Saints get the same treatment

I think the deadline to tag a player has expired. 3/8/22

Hopefully watson's no-trade clause helps drive the cost down some bc he's worth more than #18 and a late round 1st next year

If Watson is traded to the Saints, Goodell suspends him the second the trade is approved.

Taysom gives the roster flexibility to manage a potential suspension. Many will disagree but it’s part of the value that Taysom provides.

Don’t be an idiot. The guy asked why Watson could possibly not want to come here and I answered the question. Y’all are acting like I said the team is arse. I’m just saying it’s not like we’re some ultra loaded team in a perfect position, there are things that would give anyone pause.

Let’s see some advantages:
RB: Saints
WR: Saints
OL: Saints
Defense: Saints

Will those things remain true after the trade? I’m curious what we’re giving up.

Since Watson gets to choose per his contract stipulation I doubt he choosing lowly Panthers. If shithead Payton would have stayed we'd be easy frontruners
