"The #Saints and #Panthers have made offers for #Texans QB Deshaun Watson and are likely to meet with him soon, sources tell me and @TomPelissero. Other teams also are involved. Watson has a no-trade clause and wants to meet with teams before formally waiving it anywhere."

These are likely both acceptable offers to the Texans to get to this stage. So this likely comes down to who Watson approves

The Panthers don't have a receiver like Mike Thomas to throw to. I'd think that might be a selling point.

If it comes down to who he thinks the better team is then Watson to the saints is a done deal. It’s really not even close in which franchise is better.

Let’s see some advantages:
RB: Saints
WR: Saints
OL: Saints
Defense: Saints

Watson should want to win now with the Saints

Twitter is so mad. It brings me so much joy. The amount of NFL fans that have zero clue about the cap is crazy.

I'm seeing so many meltdowns.

"The saints with what money?"

"how do the Saints keep getting away with this"

Tickles me pink

If it’s true that Watson said he wants a solid defense and o-line, gotta be the Saints as the lead. I-line was down last year but historically has been top notch. Defense is nasty.

Knowing Houston's front office, they probably think he's worth a 6th round pick and a special teamer.

He has already turned the panthers down twice.

DJ Moore, they may even move on from McCaffrey. The Texans like injury prone RBs

The Saints can definitely meet the pick requirement. The question is, what players are we throwing in. They can have Taysom, Cesar Ruiz and Peat.

Watson played college in the general area of Carolina. Would that be influential?

Michael Thomas = better than anyone Carolina has

Kamara = more durable than McCaffrey (barring his legal issues atm)

Saints D = best in the league

No reason the dude shouldn’t come here.

It would be quite humorous to me if we get Watson after Sean retired. We could legit win a super bowl next year

And CMC is likely included in the trade to Houston…

Keep in mind it’s not so much as what the Texans like in the offer, it’s where Watson wants to go. So the Panthers can offer all of the picks and players that their little heart desires, but Watson can veto any trade there if he doesn’t want to go. This will all come down to what Watson wants. He controls the market here.
