The ultimate wtf moment for the Saints

I guess Tommy Stevens is assured of a practice squad spot now.

Bold since there's no proof CSP has taught ANY quarterback.

QBs that have thrown for 5000 yards, in the history of the NFL, can be counted on two hands...Jameis is one of them. You don't throw for 5000 yards if you suck at playing QB. The talent is there, he just has to learn to limit his risks. I think a year of watching Brees will do wonders for him.

lol he’s not. I wouldn’t want him as my long term QB. You will never ever win a super bowl with him as your QB. Combo of the offense he’s in, down a lot constantly throwing. Didn’t he throw 30’picks last year?

People who can't see this signing for what it really is simply do not understand football.
Signing Winston to a 1 year deal does a number of things for us:
1) Gives us a backup QB who's better than 1/3 of the QB's in the league
2) Allows us to have an option besides a guy who had 13 career attempts if something were to happen to Drew
3) Allows us to continue to use Taysom Hill without restraint or limitations because. With a capable QB2 in the building we are free to let hill play WR, RB, TE, special teams, etc
The deal at this moment says nothing about Winston or the Saints long term. If he gets a chance and takes advantage, he could set himself up for a Bridgewater type situation. If anyone will get something out of him, it'll be Drew and Sean.
Low risk, good reward moves are always wise to invest in. We've done so here. I am struggling to see how this carries any downside with it

It is better than signing scam Newton but that is not saying much. I HATE THIS MOVE!

Being the biggest ahole around puts you in the minority not your opinion on JW.

I hope he does all that and even more.
I hope he gets right with himself and the world and with God.
I hope he becomes likable and the best QB in the league playing for us for the next ten years.
I hope he helps others and puppies going forward.
Years ago I wished for the first winning season as crazy as it sounds.
So maybe wishing for good things to happen with Winston is not so strange.

Y’all do realize they didn’t sign him to lead Saints Talk’s church service. He’s a backup QB of a football team, I love my Saints but if y’all are that emotional about a backup QB then y’all need to rearrange some priorities.

You know what...you're exactly right.
