Dude has been banged up for sure. I listen to way too much dolphins radio/talk living down here. Longs best>>>Bushrod. Especially if cheaper.

i completely agree. if it comes down to a similar deal, you obviously go with the better, proven talent.

Not to mention drew seems to have eyes in the back of his head. How many times have you seen brees simply step up right after bushrod gets beat. I don't mind bushrod but I don't want them to overpay for him either.

I'd rather resign Bushrod than a questionable OT that's injury prone. Long is way better than Bushrod healthy but Bushrod doesn't exactly suck either. Bushrod is also consistent while Long has an injury history. I'd rather go with the guy who hasn't missed a start...and will probably be cheaper.

Bushrod would be an above average RT if they were to move him there on the fly. At LT he is just too slow to beat the speed rushers in the NFL today. Still he is the average LT that will eventually get his payday, here or elsewhere.
I don't think anyone can say that he hasn't done a pretty good job for us. The consistent play at LT has been key to our success for sure. His ability to stay healthy has been his best asset. See Strief for the polar opposite.

Seriously, someone needs to explain to me how much more Long would cost than Bushrod. I don't think the difference in what they will get is as much as some of you think.

Agree with most you said.
If I gave Bush a grade it would be a solid B. His lack of time missed is his best quality. Penalties his worst.
Must be a nice hold card to have when you know your the linchpin of the Saints begining free agent moves and of the moves at the top of their draft.
I know alot don't agree but he's earned it to me.

Drew definitely saves some sacks by getting rid of the ball quickly, but that has as much to do with Payton's offense as it does Drew. Payton's offense is built to get rid of the ball quickly. There has been quite a few times where Brees gets sacked because he didn't step up into an open pocket. Or sometimes Drew takes himself right into where the pressure is coming from. The point is, as good as he is at getting rid of the ball, he also some times takes sacks that are his fault.
