I am just perplexed that people could look at least year's WRs, talk all offseason about how huge a need it is, then say "Nah we are good, maybe a rookie"

We should DEFINITELY address WR early in the draft no matter what, but Rookie WRs are notorious for taking longer than some other positions to contribute.

We should address it with at least one Vet and one rookie.

Competition is good.

Having both kamara and Etienne will also help in the passing game

Kamara could line up in the slot tbh

I like Brad Chubb & Mike Hilton coming off down years. Chubb would be two years removed from ACL, still only 29. Hilton can fill the slot role

I want one of the vet safeties and a boundary corner

I need a vet WR - Kirk, Hopkins, Mooney, Hollywood brown

And I’m still trying to add a vet OL or two with experience

Idk man, I don’t know if that’s true. Shaheed was undrafted and contributed, the guy in Carolina won roty.

I didn't mention Chubb because I thought he might get more than we are willing to pay, but yeah he would be a good fit

I wouldn’t mind Mooney if it’s a low cost. Played at Tulane so he might give us the hometown discount. Draft a receiver in the 2nd. A good one should make it down.

And Hobbs that GB just cut to play the nickel. Guys that we can get cheap on one year deals to fill in.

Its true. There are many guys that do contribute day 1. But its a position that in years past has been notorious for a lot of guys taking more than one year for the light to go on.

I just cannot see going into the year with:

Olave - 1 snap away from being in a coma
Vele - did nothing until Shough started then was injured the rest of the year

No one of real note after that. Lots of question marks and guys with unrealized talent.

This was not even a remotely controversial opinion until like two days ago. I feel like I am taking crazy pills here

I think PFF has him at like 2/15? Kind of a chase young deal to try and establish value. Should be ample opportunity and Staley has a track record of producing double digit sack guys

A bosa reunion could work in the same vein

First and second round receivers contribute early all the time though. I’ve heard DT’s take time to develop.

I’d have to look through the ones taken the last few years but I know of a few off the top of my head like Egbuka, Carolina guy, shaheed; etc

Not saying we shouldn’t address it

Why is Darnell Mooney getting little run as a FA?

He would be a great signing. Sitting in the Dome and watching him torch us for the game sealing touchdown as all of the trashy arse Magic City falcons fans erupted in joy made me wanna vomit last year. We had that game won.

We will draft a WR and added Fant, Etienne, and Polk. That's 4 offensive weapons we didn't have last year.

Improved OL will also give Shough and WR more time to make plays.

I don't see a need to spend any more money on offense unless we are replacing Ruiz.

Yeah my concern with a WR is the absurd amount of money 6-709 yard players are getting.

I’d rather draft one in the second

Fant is a TE. Etienne is a RB.

We are talking about WRs, I don't lump all "Pass Catchers" together, that is nonsense.

And if you are relying on Polk at all you are nuts. That is a lottery ticket.

You don't prepare for the offseason counting on someone like Polk. If he hits, great.

Only WR I've heard this year that's ready now to start for any team and any capacity is Tate. They say he knows the entire route tree and is day one ready. They use to say wait till year three for a reason.

The saints are much more informed at what they think they have with Polk at this time than either of us. Same w Palmer and Bub.
