But injury history is very concerning.

Dude ran a 4.43 40 and some believe that might propel him into the first round or top of the 2nd at least. I'm skeptical given his in injuries going back to high school. Buuuuutttt, IF the Saints get an additional late 1st for Lattimore and the Dr's feel confident he's not an injury concern it would be tempting to get this guy. I know most want OL and DE early and IMO they will address both in the first two rounds so the only way I see Wilson being an option is 1) He's healthy and not an injury risk, and 2) they have an additional pick in the bottom of the 1st that they acquire.

I don't think he lasts till pick 45

Daniel Jeremiah was showing clips of him chasing down wide receivers from behind down the field, pretty impressive athlete

Don't draft off-ball LBs or RBs in the 1st unless they are generational prospects.

He’s a good athlete, but I like Jeremiah Trotter Jr. in this draft. He’s athletic, smart and plays really hard.

I’m interested to see what Steele Chambers does. Former running back turned LBer. New to the position, but very athletic. Also, his name is Steele Chambers. Sounds like a WWE promotion.

Need to get this out of your head, this is not an option.

Latt has a 2024 cap hit of $14.6M and scheduled for a 2025 cap hit of $31.4M.

If they trade him before 6/1, his 2024 cap hit jumps to $31.3M and there is no cap hit in 2025.

But if they trade him after 6/01, his 2024 cap hit drops to $10.6M and his 2025 cap hit drops to $20.6M

The restructure was done to trade him between 6/01 & 8/31 and will be for a 2025 draft pick. If traded after 8/31, Saints will be on the hook for another $13.8M

Id imagine Cooper, Trotter and Wilson are first LBers to be drafted. With the number of highly regarded WRs and OL in the draft, I’d expect one of those, if not two of them fall to the 2nd round.

I’d love to get Trotter, but I think we have to do DE and OT with the first two picks.

we need to replace cam first

he will be spending more time ridding the bench than playing on the field.

they never should have resigned him

We have not a single player that I would consider above average in rushing the qb. Not a one that scares anyone or requires a double team now and then. You're just a pretender in this league if you can't get to the qb and you can't protect the edges.

We already spent a 1st rounder on an injury-prone defensive player named Payton. No mas

Rdgerrin Cooper isn't being talked about enough.

I don't think the Saints can afford to draft a lb high this year, but if they did I'd want cooper

All top 3 true LBs are good options, we just dont have the picks.

Doubtful as LB is by far the weakest depth position on the team. After Davis and Werner there's really not much at all. Especially if Baun leaves for a better role.

Yes you save the money but you immediately make LB teh priority, above DE which should be the priority and WR which is the second weakest position depth wise on the team.

I look for him to be restructured or even have his contract renegotiated (But they won't have much leverage in doing that when he's by bar your best defensive player still. )

Why is cutting out the heart of the defense possible?

i didnt say i wanted him gone. davis is one of the main cogs in this team, just thought they might move on from him. looks like theyre trying to for one reason or another.

I don’t want to spend another 1st or 2nd on a DE ever again. Aside from Cam over a decade ago we have been abysmal at drafting that position.

So do I. If he’s there at 45 i’m running to take him. I’ll take the risk with the injury history because he’s a better play now LB than Cooper is but it’s close. I would love Cooper too plus he’s the hometown kid. I think one gets taken late 1st or early 2nd and the other goes in the 40-50 range.
