I know anything is possible etc, but do you ever really see the saints winning another one again? If so how soon

Yes. It'll happen. Maybe in my lifetime (I'm 33), maybe not. But it will happen again.

Yes, I feel like the NFL has the quickest turnarounds for bad teams.

Depends. Gayle wants a winner but she’d be lost if she was forced to get rid of Loomis. The franchise needs new blood, people hungry to win. Loomis hasn’t been hungry since 2018 and probably won’t be now that Payton is gone.

If we got a serious HC and Ireland became the sole GM, I’d say we’d be competing again fairly soon. If we ever lost Ireland AND Loomis, idk if I’d have enough faith in Gayle to get that very crucial GM hire right. She got lucky with Griff with the Pelicans.

Yeah it takes a lot of incompetence from ownership to stay bad for long stretches like 10+ years like the Jets, Lions, Browns, Jags. I don’t think Gayle is a top 5 owner but she at least knew that Loomis was stretched too thin as GM for two major franchises and made the change to Griff. I think she’d be able to eventually find a fit at GM if shite went south and Loomis and Ireland were gone. Might take a couple of tries but she’d get there

Saints will leave New Orleans before they win another Super Bowl.

Right now it feels very far away… well on the other side of firing Allen, lucking into a great coach, and a massive rebuild that includes a new franchise QB.

I mean… the chances are non-zero, but still…

Not with this HC and Qb situation. If anything they’re wasting really good talent. I’ll say maybe.. I didn’t think I would ever see it in my lifetime (43), so who knows. Brees and Sean were special.

What a ridiculous question. Ask those fans who have been with the team from the 60s, 70s, and 80s, if they thought they would EVER see the Saints win the Superbowl. Let me know what your crystal ball says.

Hard to see it. With the moves this team is currently making, it appears it will be awhile before they have a top 5 QB. Therefore, you would need to have an elite defense and running game to pair with a game manager. They were there with the elite defense at the end of Brees and 2 years ago (can't call last year's defense elite), and still couldn't get it done because you need "other breaks" to go your way. So now you are either looking for the defense to get back to their way, while they continue to age; or you need to find someone better than what appears to be the current best of the best (Mahomes, Allen, Burrow, Hebert), and the current 2nd tier (Hurst, Lamar, Lawrence).

Thankfully, most of the talent appears to be in the AFC, to the road to the SB could be easier.
