If Rattler is the answer then the Saints aren’t asking the right questions.

It’s a wide open competition,
I’d expect Rattler to look better than Sough, purely based on having seen live action.
I didn’t like the Sough draft pick, mainly due to where he was drafted. Based on what Sough’s age and draft selection, he needs to develop faster than the other QBs.

Not sure why this would surprise anyone. Shough has done nothing on the football field that would suggest he’s better than Rattler at football. Rattler won The big 12 championship as a redshirt freshman. It took Shough 7 years to play a real full season.

Shough was terrible pick mainly because he would have been available a couple rounds later… Rattler would have beaten Shougb out in college as an underclassman … it’s no surprise he would beat him out in a NFL training camp

They both will start at different times this year. In the end, one will go and one will be the back up QB to whoever comes next.

I mean objectively that’s almost certainly not true. Every single pre and post draft story said Shough was going to go at some point in the second round at the latest.
Spoiler, most second round qbs do not end up as nfl starters. By that logic yes every QB not taken in the top 16 picks is most likely going to a bust and therefore a wasted pick.

Moore said he'd let the 3 battle it out. How can you evaluate anything from last year? Trash HC and rag tag group of players. Everyone must be evaluated this year. He's doing the right thing.

This isn’t true… no one had Shough as a better prospect than Shedeur who went in the 5th… Shough ain’t do one thing special in college

given the reports of how Shough is looking when the pressure is dialed up in practice, there is literally less than zero percent reason to think he will look BETTER vs. other defenses, even in the preseason....
it's time to accept the fact that we wasted the 40th pick of the draft this year, b/c Shough is not the guy... he is, at best, a career backup, and given his age, i tend to think that he will play out his rookie contract and then will be out of the league completely after that...
