I don't think they'll use #9, but the Saints will use their 2nd round pick or their first 3rd rounder on a QB, I guarantee it. McCord, Howard, Ewers, Milroe, or Tyler Shough will be a Saint.

Not sure if I agree in general but probably do for the Saints. He has shown some flashes throughout his time at Tejas.

Milroe may make someone a fine running back

Saints fans logic means they’re drafting McCord at 9.

I would be willing to bet that in five years the consensus “best 2025 QB drafted” will be a third rounder or later.

After reading about him, McCord is going to go higher than what the public and draftniks think, IMHO. Supposedly he's testing off the literal charts in various new analyses.

Some of the smarter draftniks and analysts have been mentioning him since basically the season ended.

McCord is one of the better passers in the draft. I was high on him very early. i think there's a lot of decent qb prospects in the draft, almost slightly underrated bc they feel the top end tier isn't in the upper elite range of typical top 10 qb picks.

Any case, its about finding the best fit and culture need for your organization and offense kellen envisions.

Yup. After last year’s smoke prior to Nix/Pennix going top 15, its pretty clear teams are hiding their qb evals.

These qb’s are being underrated by draft scouts who did the same thing last season.

We are def looking for Carr’s replacement.

This is smoke screen season.

No one knows what they want to do.

I would take a guess to say they would be interested in Ward if the price to trade up is palatable. If Sanders falls to 9 could see them picking him. I could see them picking dart in the 2nd if he’s there or maybe trading back into the lat first as they have don’t in the past.

Or I could see them not taking one and bringing in a journeyman vet QB after the draft.

They are simply doing what they should be doing since they have an offensive minded young HC and no long term QB.

Uncovering every piece of information on draft able QBs.

If someone is drafting milroe it’s because they think they can use him as a very effective wrinkle in their offense. The guy ran in the 4.3s and is a decent sized guy.

They’d obviously hope you could then turn that wrinkle into a full time guy.

I like all of these to varying degrees, though wouldn't draft any until our late 3rd round pick at soonest. Of this group, I'd be most interested in McCord, Howard, and Shough - I like QBs that fit the prototype: tall, athletic, good to great arm strength. I wouldn't take Ewers or Milroe until the 5th or later, though Milroe could be a fun developmental prospect.
