I vote yes. A lot will vote now based on injuries but he’s still a top 5 LT when he’s on the field and he’s only 29. You don’t let franchise LT’s walk. He loves the city and the team if they offer him anything remotely fair I think he gladly takes it to come back. I say 3 years $36 million.

Doesn’t seem like he plays enough. I’d love to keep him if he stays healthy.

2021 season
Terron Armstead:
Offensive snaps played-468 penalties-3 sacks allowed-1
I really hope they find a way to keep him. He has had a very frustrating history of injuries but his level of play is so high I just think he is worth the risk.

If his contract reflects his injury history rather than just his top 5 play, you'd be dumb not to.

You have contingencies on the roster in the event he's hurt, so why not?

He's being labeled as the #1 free agent this year, so I doubt anything team friendly happens.

Because he’s possibly the best LT in football when he’s on the field. He’s top 3 regardless. He also is the team leader with Cam. You don’t let a guy like that walk.

Andrus Peat is on a 5/$57 with $33 mil guaranteed

An Armstead contract is going to start at at least $20 mil/year and likely approach $100 mil in total, with $50+ mil guaranteed

Armstead is the #1 OT FA available, and arguably, the #1 overall FA available.

There are bout 10 teams with $30 to $70 million cap dollars available to spend this offseason, many who have a need at OT, and will bid/fight for Armstead.

The Saints are still $30 million plus over the cap, so they have to cut or restructure that much just to break even. Then they have to cut a lot more in the (discount) $20 million/year range just to sign a starting QB. Then cut even more to match or exceed the big-time offers Armstead is fielding.

Agreed. Feel like Trent Williams is a comparable guy. Same type of injury history as well. He is going to get a monster deal

That's funny.
He is going to get 3 years 60 mil easily.

He misses what 6 games a year on average?

I'm trading down for someone who wants a QB at 18 and taking a LT if he's graded as a day 1 starter. Then using my next 15 pics on WR's

we definitely arent getting a team friendly deal lol

there is a certain team in Ohio with money to blow that has massive OL holes and a reason to spend money there.

I would be shocked if Armstead isnt a a Bengal next year especially based on their history of signing ex Saints and how well it has worked out for them

Another team is going to offer him a boat load of cash and the Saints are willing to do that.

I think we do. don't know if I agree with it at the price he'll command even though I'd miss him if we let him walk.
