Very likely will happen, almost as likely is making a run to the SB. The NFC is shite this year, strange shite happens in the playoffs almost every year. If this team gets healthy late, it is not unreasonable to see them make a push. Unlikely, but not unreasonable. Especially since they will have a lot of players well rested.

At this point, would it even be worth it to go to the playoffs as the "best" team in the worst division in the NFL?
Even if we were to make it in, there's no way this Saints team will make it past the first round.
Going to the playoffs this year would only serve to push the value of our remaining draft picks lower.
So, yeah, we have as good a chance as any of the other three teams to win this division. But is it worth it?

Yes it is for all the reasons posted, also Seattle 2010 who were something like 7-9 and beat the previous Super Bowl champs in the first round.

The saints went 13-3 and 12-4 in back-to-back years without getting the bye. The saints missed out on a Super Bowl bc of an egregious call. They all but had a playoff spot lined up last year before the eventual Super Bowl champs completely collapsed. I will take a playoff spot with a losing record, and I won't apologize for it... the god of football owes us
