Honestly by that time, we will probably be dealing to injuries to at least 1 main receiver, and probably more with our injury luck.
I don’t see the harm in signing him as 2nd half of the season depth. We will probably need him tbh.

Why do people act like this is an outlandish take?
LSU had the most players in the league while Sean was the coach. The highest probability you would have and LSU player on any given NFL roster. And the Saints had how many during his tenure?

In the era of NIL, which school a player is drafted from is becoming less relevant. NCAA Football is more like a minor league system than ever before.

IMO it doesn’t make sense that Payton would avoid an LSU player if he thought the player gave him the best chance to win. The league was (and is) stocked with good players from LSU. But if at a given spot in the draft, FA, and trade market, including cap considerations, the stars didn’t align scouting wise vs. another player, dollars, etc. and an LSU player wasn’t the choice… it is what it is.
If Payton hated LSU players he probably would have cut Devery in ‘06, or passed on Al Woods in the draft, not signed Will Clapp, not pursued Beckham. Am I missing any?
I think it’s an issue here because we’re all LSU fans, most of whom follow ex-Tigers and pull for them in the NFL.
And is there any evidence of Sean Payton having a beef with LSU?

And was successful as hell doing it.
Look I bleed purple and goal and don’t care one bit for OSU. But when the Bengals come to the Dome in October I hope that every time Joe Burrow drops back to pass that either 1- Marshon Lattimore intercepts every one of his passes to Jamar Chase and returns it for a TD, or 2- Pete Werner sacks, scoops and scores.
Every other game I hope every Burrow pass is a TD to Chase.
