I’d be surprised if he didn’t clear waivers

Then again, a lot of these shite teams could see the benefit of just claiming him in order to get a few more asses in the seats for a handful of home games even though he wouldn’t re-sign with them

He doesn’t want to get claimed by a crap team and if he does will likely sit the remainder of the season then be a free agent.

If he wants to get paid, then he’ll play. Teams can suspend him without pay for conduct detrimental to the team. I’d be fine with that tbh.

Makes him cheaper to sign in the off-season

I’m a little confused with the term of “waiving” a player. I thought you had to release veterans and they are free to sign with whom ever they choose; yet, I’m reading on TD about where we we are in terms of waiver selection...not good to get a player like OBJ when there are others ahead of us needing receivers.

I read this article I’m attaching, but still confused on OBJ’s situation. Can someone shed some light on this for me...Thanks in advance.

OBJ has so much talent, if he had Jerry Rice’s work ethic and mentality, he would probably become the greatest WR in NFL history. His numbers could be record setting.

But he’s a cancer in the locker room, and his ego is toxic to every team he’s been on. He’s a little like Dez Bryant, with even more upside.

removing the final 2 years makes it even more likely he clears waivers right? losing teams don’t want an 8 game rental

His last two years weren't guaranteed, and at over $15 million a year no one was paying that.
