Officially released

Rap reporting they tried to trade him Sunday night but couldn’t find a partner to take his contract

*Well not officially official per the transaction wire, but he’s been notified of his release this morning

** Now official per the Browns

From Breer

Again, there was only what 1 source called a "very short discussion" b/w the Saints and Browns

Sounds like there was little to no interest from ANYONE in trading for him

Thanks for posting. Not overly familiar with the waiver process. Why do all teams not have a shot?

They have marquis Brown as their number one, paid pretty good money for Sammy Watkins in the off-season and their #1 pick just came back a couple weeks ago they trying to work into the offense. And they are mostly a running team. Baltimore makes no sense for him.

If Marquise Brown is your #1 then WR help makes sense for you.

And again, Browns are dumb as hell for not eating some of his contract and trading him at the deadline.

The guy on pace for 1300 yards and 14 TDs?

Mark Andrews
Watkins
Bateman
Duvernay

They’re pretty good there

I am not sure OBJ is an upgrade over Keenan Allen at this point in time.

You’re not sure a guys who’s averaging 40 yards a game over the last two years is an upgrade over one of the best WRs in league?

Yes, Brown is like a young Cooks except with worse hands. Watkins is always a game away from his next injury.

When your coach say "he's effective off the team," it sort of depresses the trade market.

Why trade assets when he'll be on the open market?

Since Odell Beckham Jr. joined the #Browns  in 2019 only 62% of his targets have been deemed catchable.

That ranks 62nd out of 62 qualifying receivers with at least 200 targets the past 3 seasons

He’s a head case and not reliable. He’s not likely to sign with the Saints anyway. He’ll probably end up in Tampa.
