Here are the teams that I could see taking a QB, be it with their pick or a trade up.
1. Detroit Lions (Picks 2 and 32)
2. New York Giants (Picks 5 and 7)
3. Carolina Panthers (Pick 6)
4. Atlanta Falcons (Pick 8)
5. Seattle Seahawks (Pick 9)
6. Houston Texans ( Picks 3 and 13)
7. New Orleans Saints (Picks 16 and 19)
8. Pittsburgh Steelers (Pick 20)
9. Tennessee Titans (Pick 26)
10. Tampa Bay Buccanners (Pick 27)

I have a feeling the Saints could fleece the Titans if they wanted to move up for a qb still sitting at 16/19. Even the Lions sitting at the end of Rd 1.

Mwould definitely be getting a future first as part of that deal and then some I’d imagine.

I think the Bucs could shock the world and take one of the QBs with #27. Brady already retired once and they have jack shite behind him.

1. Detroit Lions (Picks 2 and 32) - #2 Hutchinson, #32 Ridder
2. New York Giants (Picks 5 and 7) - #5 OL, #7 Trade Down
3. Carolina Panthers (Pick 6) - Willis
4. Atlanta Falcons (Pick 8) - OL
5. Seattle Seahawks (Pick 9) - DB
6. Houston Texans ( Picks 3 and 13) - #3 DB or DE, #13 Trade Down
7. New Orleans Saints (Picks 16 and 19) - some combo of WR/OL/QB
8. Pittsburgh Steelers (Pick 20) - Pickett
9. Tennessee Titans (Pick 26) - Corral
10. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Pick 27) - TE or OG
Here's my sure-to-be-wrong guess, with highlighted QBs.
One thing to watch is that with the new CBA and QB 2nd contract trends, it's likely the 5th year option will be devalued to some degree. So teams may be more apt to wait until the 2nd Round for a QB than in years past.

Loomis doesn’t trade back in the first round. It just doesn’t happen yet every year we hear people talk about trading back for more picks. We have now had 20 years worth of proof that trading back in the early rounds is not in the cards for this organization.

That's not rumors, it's a fact. This is the weakest qb class in a while.
Y’all say this shite like you’ve done extensive research complete with spreadsheets of stats and watching ‘film’ year after year
No, you haven’t don’t any of that. You’ve watched a CFB game here or there and also use all the same BS cliches that the uninformed talking heads use
None of y’all know anything, y’all aren’t privy to the same info that the front office guys get in order to make these picks, yet every year most of y’all are screaming at the sky and reusing all the same BS cliches because the Saints didn’t get that one guy you wanted
Draft talk and speculation is pointless outside of the top 3 picks

Gonna laugh my dick off when 3+ QBs get picked in the 1st round, just bc everyone has decided they suck.

Do any of the betting sites have this prop bet?

Nobody ‘knows’ anything.. the only thing they know are the cliche stereotypes that are regurgitated every year

I'd be a little bit surprised if 2 QBs weren't gone before our pick. They always seem to rise even when everyone says they aren't good.
But this is an odd draft.
I wouldn't be surprised if 3 QBs are picked at 16, and I wouldn't be surprised if none were.

a team is only allowed one player per pick selection.

David Tepper is the owner of the Panthers. He's also a Pittsburgh native and Pitt alum/booster. Carolina clearly needs a QB. It might be hard for him to pass on Pickett.
The Falcons' starting QB right now is Marcus Marriota. They essentially dumped Matt Ryan in an all out pursuit for Deshuan Watson. Carolina doesn't have a viable QB on the roster now. Tom Brady will eventually retire (maybe). The Saints are rolling with Jameis.
The guy who is thought to be the top QB prospect, Willis, in the draft also happens to be a native of Atlanta. For a franchise that was already bad and looks to be going backwards an injection of hope in the form of a rookie may be something to consider.

Atlanta figures to be picking top 3 next year. I assume they will take a lineman, bottom out, and draft a QB next season.

Maybe. But sometimes the coaches/players don't get the memo that they should lose enough games to secure a top 3 pick. Plus, there doesn't appear to be a "no doubt" prospect waiting in the wings in 2023 (though some guys will inevitably emerge).
Atlanta is going to need a QB at some point. If their top prospect at that position is staring them in the face when they are on the clock it may be tough pass up for an uncertain future.

I could stomach Willis or Pickett at 19 after we get a WR. If we don't get a WR at 16, we should go WR at 19 assuming there's a good one still on the board. I don't really want a QB at all this year but if Willis or Pickett fall to 19 and we already address our biggest need, I would be less upset.

For fun, I went back and looked at WalterFootball's mock draft the day of last year's draft.
They got the first 5 picks right, and then after that only got 4 more picks correct.
They were 9 for 32, or 28% accurate.
This is a website that does a pretty good of job of updating their site with the latest player news, and they were still horribly off.
The draft is fun times

quote:Oh I agree with that totally, but at some point he has to bite the head off the snake when it comes to the salary cap issues he's had in the last few offseasons. One way to do that is letting expensive veterans go and try to retool it with cheap labor from the draft. Hitting on two first round picks at WR and OT would solve that issue on the offensive side of the ball for the next several years - especially at LT where they just let Armstead walk.
