I guess if an all-girls parochial school that you have to pay for is your "best option" for your child...

to be fair he wasn't trying to speculate or infer anything about Sean himself. He just thought it was important we all know what that his daughter and Payton's daughter cried together at dancing school

What the hell do you have against parochial schools in NOLA? My class had an insane amount of national merit semi finalists/finalists (as did each one before and after). Do you honestly think SP cares about the 25 k that it will take to cover HS for his daughter?
Those are ridiculously subjective rankings (no way in hell is Ben Franklin a better school than Brother Martin, Jesuit, Dominican)...and besides IT'S JUST HIGH SCHOOL...it's not like we are talking Harvard vs LSU here. If your kids are getting a really solid education (which they would be at those two schools) the difference is again NEGLIGIBLE unless the kids themselves are overly intelligent. In which I'm sure your pretentious Dallas school probably wouldn't challenge them either.

I have nothing against them. I'm not even from Dallas. I'm from Slidell for pete's sake.
Just saying - They lived in Dallas before and are familiar with the public, non-gender-segregated, non-parochial "normal" high schools available and perhaps THEY may have a preference.
Not knockin' anybody's education - Trust me.

Given an equal education, I'd send my kid to a "gender-segregated" high school every day over a "normal" high school.

And therein lies the difference between boys and girls (I happen to be in the "preferred to shower" camp).

To each their own. All I can say is that I was a SELA girl in a whole 'nuther world at TCU. I realized I'd seen a lot more of the real world than 90% of my classmates. I tell people "My first year - I only had a couple friends. By my second year - I had a cult following." Pretty much ran a Home For Wayward Sorority Girls by my Junior year.

the thread detour is certainly better discussion than the SP to Dallas issue

At least the latter end of this thread seems to be occupied by rational, respectful individuals with opinions grounded in our varied realities.

Some dude has a daughter who heard at at a school dance that the Paytons were moving to Dallas and then the internet exploded.
really though, it is more than an internet rumor. As i said in a thread earlier that was deleted, someone in the saints front office told someone I know the same thing. Not neccessairly that Payton is leaving, but his wife is unhappy in NOLa and wants to move back to Texas.
the guy making the official statement that Brees isnt going anywhere should probably not tell anyone this kind of info if he doesnt want to have make statements like this.

The list also has no mention of any parochial/christian/faith based school (at least through 500...which I simply flat out to believe is the case) so I'm fairly certain they were not included at all regardless of gender segregation.

This is a fact. The Paytons have purchased a house in Dallas. But Sean is not going anywhere.

That's because they are chartered independently and thus not subject to review beyond state mandated literacy/mathematical baseline testing.

Coaches families living in a different city than where he works is nothing unusual at all if such a thing would happen.
Posted on 2/7/11 at 12:44 pm to blueslover
This is all bullshite. If you read his book Sean Payton says that his family is happy with where they live and that his children are indeed "thriving" where they are. And remember in said book, he talked about his interview with Mickey Loomis and the thought of having his family live in Dallas and Loomis nixed that real quick. Loomis said he wanted somebody who would be "all in". Nobody is going anywhere.
Well I just found out they are leaving....Not good. And what was all that BS he wrote in his book?
