Why would we not take the ball. What's the rule now

Defensive TD ends the game. Offensive TD does not

It’s what most teams do now, because both teams have to get a possession in OT.

New overtime rules. Defense first is the right choice.

He intended to kick it through the uprights. Should have counted.

Is deferring common in OT now ? I guess I haven’t really paid attention

I was wondering the same, since a TD wins the game.

Both teams get possession no matter if they score a TD. Starting on defense was the right choice

No, defense is the play. Since the other team gets a chance, you’ll know if you need to go for it on 4th. Only negative is if it’s tied after your possession, they get first sudden death possession.

But this is when you go do 2, if both get TDs

The intent of the clock was to run?

You go 2nd so you know what you need to tie or win.

Defense is playing lights out. If they get the stop all we need is a fieldgoal to win

not only is deferring common...it is the only thing that makes sense.

Both teams are guaranteed possession.

Each team gets a possession now, barring a defensive TD.
