Solid watch

The arguments against him will mostly be his age and lack of a HC resume. Still, he's been coaching up good offenses for a while now

Well respected guy, good OC, but he's almost 60 and has never sniffed a HC job at any level. Not HS, Not college, not Division 3, not the NFL.

That would be a little worrisome

He was the Southern Miss HC for a few years and it was their most successful run in recent history. He goes to UGA and helps them win 2 NCs and now he is in Baltimore crushing it with the Ravens.

I am a big Todd Monken fan.

Little deceptive...

Monken was HC 2013-5

USM...
2012: 0-12 (0-8)
2013: 1-11 (1-7)
2014: 3-9 (1-7)
2015: 9-5 (7-1)

He turned the eagles around

I don't give a frick. It's black and white. That's his record. Dennis Allen also had a black and white record that was ignored. If this franchise hires another fricking coach with a losing record as a head coach get ready for pitchforks and torches from this fanbase.

Can he be successful somewhere? Probably. But that's not the move here after what we just went through. That move will not and can not happen. We are hiring a fresh coordinator with a clean slate.

I guess we're just different bc I don't expect a coach to take over at a winless program like USM and win right away. I think his job at USM was impressive. Winless before he took over to conference championship game in year 3.

He was good enough to get hired as an NFL OC from USM. He turned around the worst program in the NCAA

They'll hire someone with ties to Payton. Loomis can't let it go.

Even if he took over a winless program and left them as a 9 win team?

I don't know. That's not exactly easy to do at the college level.

I'm not sure what people are expecting in terms of a coaching hire. I realize there are only so many jobs available, but the Saints salary cap and overall team might not be the most attractive.

If you want an offensive savant he’s probably your most likely shot because of the age thing

And at least he’s proven he can coach up an offense at multiple stops…and a young hot name sounds great but for every McVay there are 3-4 failures that flame out quick because their initial success as an OC was overstated

Slovick was all the rage last season…now he’s being dragged for poor playcalling and design.

I don't doubt his coaching ability as far as X's and O's but when it comes to being a leader what is he like?

whoever the Saints hire I hope it is someone who holds the players accountable and the assistants also.

Here’s what’s even funnier, when Jimbo left there was outrage Les wanted to promote him to OC, so he was forced to go outside and hire Crowton

Monken got the Jags job when Del Rio was coaching the senior bowl and was impressed with the LSU players route running or some shite if I recall correctly
