Resurrecting a team coached to the dumpster by Ellis Johnson. He's been there and made it happen.

I don't give a frick. It's black and white. That's his record.
Literally no one else thinks Todd Monken did a bad job at USM. I go to USM games. I read USM message boards. I graduated from USM. You are 100% all alone with your little take there.
Well, to be fair, there was another guy who asserted right away that Monken had never been a head coach, had never thought about being one, and couldn't spell head coach if you spotted him the H and the C. So you're actually not even totally losing the slug race here.
Frickin' NFL fans, man. Not one minute of that crap will be shown in my house.

I don't doubt his coaching ability as far as X's and O's but when it comes to being a leader what is he like?
My brother was at Southern Miss during the time and USM is a small school so he had friends on the team. They all loved Monk. He was able to get the absolute best out of his guys and they believed they could win every game including when they played teams like Mississippi State and Kentucky. He also really invested in the players outside of football. One of his things he would do is he would buy a suit for any player that graduated. The suit was meant for them to wear to job interviews. The point of that anecdote is that he understands that being HC means more than just X's and O's.
