38 catches on 40 targets is unbelievable. Brees - Thomas best WR/QB duo in NFL right now

With Bell no longer in Pitt we hav the best QB/RB/WR trio by far

Not saying they better, just brain storming trios.

Goff/Gurley/Cooks
Mahomes/Hunt/Hill
Manning/Odell/Barkley
Ryan/Ridley/Freeman
Rivers/Gordon/Allen

If Mahomes really is legit, which I think he is, Chiefs have the best weapons of all

Mahomes/Kelce/Hill/Hunt/Watkins. Filthy

But as far as QB/RB/WR trios I can’t think of a team better than ours

can someone bump the draft thread where posters went bonkers(not the poster) over selecting a WR from OSU in the 2nd round during the 2016 NFL draft

cause that would be a good read right now

Love Thomas, but lets see what happens the rest of this season and the next one or two.

I think we'll end up paying Mike Thomas

I doubt it. WR is a position that is easily filled, and teams that throw bank at it suffer. As much as I like Thomas and hope he's here for his entire career, the reality is that can only happen if he is willing to accept a reasonable contract. WR simply isn't a premium position, and teams that treat it as such generally don't succeed.

This I agree with.

Yeah he can walk, worth every penny but we don’t need to pay him those pennies either.

We're pretty damn good at drafting WR's in the high rounds. I could see us letting him walk if we keep that up. Hitting on a rookie & paying him peanuts for 4 years is the best way to go.

It would be nice if we hit on a late round WR again...like Colston(7th) & Stills(5th). We got Snead & Lance Moore for free.

We would need someone pretty damn good to replace him with though.

I believe having quality players at Wide receiver is very important and you don't let a superstar go. What teams have suffered? I just want more evidence of this? The lions? As bad as they were they still had their best seasons in the past 20 years with Calvin. I guess Andre Johnson comes to mind.

Elite receivers to reach super bowl over the last 15. (this is being in the top 5 the year they went there at minimum)
Owens 2004
Harrison 2006
Moss 2007
Fitz and Holmes 2008
Wayne 2009
Wallace 2010
Welker 2011
Cruz 2011
Gronk 2012,2015,2017,2018. (yes he is a basically a receiver)
Thomas 2013
Jones 2017

Last message you want to send to players around the league and on your own team is

work your arse off day in and out, get better year to year, do all the right things on and off the field, and get paid elsewhere

Thomas has done everything right, is a top player at his position, and is a leader on this team.

You back up that brinks truck and pay the man.

interesting thread... LINK

Would be absolutely terrible. I could only somehow justify Treadwell just because he's so good. But unless there's an o-lineman they absolutely love I'll be sick if we go offense at all.

Please no.

This would be signature Saints. Get one of the worst slots in the draft, then compound mistake of not tanking at the end of last year with an audible to grill nutt like drafting some garbage receiver. Chalk this up to another really "cute" SP move.

yep, real cute

I hate to keep pointing out the fact that we have a big Colston type on the roster in Coleman. He started to come on last year and he's likely to get more opportunities now that Colston won't be on the field anymore. Obviously he will never be the star Colston was, but if he's a serviceable replacement, then do we really need to spend a first round pick on another "Colston-like" receiver?

great times

the draft thread was better

when the pick was official people lost it. There was at least 2-3 pages of pure melt.
