TeslaDome

Cause Elon is bringing HQ to Monroe!

In all seriousness I am hoping for a big tech company like Google, Amazon, or Uber/Lyft.
People nationwide have a romance with NOLA it seems. Would be good marketing for an international company.

T-Shirt Shoppe Stadium

That'll be the only economy left by football season.

I knew that would happen as soon as I saw they named the new Falcons stadium the Mercedes Benz stadium. Mercedes Benz no longer wanted to be associated with an old aging stadium (no matter the facelift) compared to the glitz and gleam of the brand new Falcon stadium.

MB built their USA corporate headquarters is in ATL in 2018. They signed a 27 year naming rights deal on the stadium in 2017

This had nothing to do with the state of the Superdome

I didn't know that this was a surprise. They talked about this when they announced the renovations last year

I never said it did have anything to do with the state of the Dome, I'm saying the writing was on the wall when they signed the deal with the new stadium in Atlanta. The Dome looked okay, but just can't compete with a brand new smacking stadium. They could have built their headquarters in NO as bad as that place needs a fortune 500 company there, I lived in Atl and they are a few 500 companies there. The Dome had that MB name before they built their HQ's in Atl and signed the deal, but I don't care, man, it is what it is.

The guy who broke the story was on with Moscona yesterday. He said that the next deal will be longer and for more money and they'll try to have more community involvement with whatever brand purchases the naming rights. He said 15 years $100 million should be a minimum ballpark. As far as who would be interested, he mentioned that a Louisiana based health system has been mentioned. I assume that could only be Oschner.

Great, as if I didn’t pay enough already.

Wish it was something that was Louisiana based but a nationwide product.

Benz paid between $50-60M for the naming rights in 2011, so the price has to be higher today. Would like to see a LA company like Zatarains or Dixie step up, but the price may be to steep. Amazon has money to burn, so they should be a player. The state controls the dome, so it will be their call.
