New Orleans Saints: In talking to sources on the coaching staff in New Orleans, it's apparent the team wants to get bigger at defensive tackle and beef up against the run. Sheldon Rankins in Round 1 and a wide receiver in Round 2 is the current "best guess" from coaches. I was told by a Saints scout that there was a big debate on Robert Nkemdiche and to not rule him out in Round 1.

Could we legit take Michael Thomas in the 2nd? I think it's a possibility.

No on Nkemdiche, the guy has loads of talent. BUT there are too many character concerns.

Would you be down with Spence/Rankins at 12 then Michael Thomas at 47 Chad?

Talent with no production and off field concerns is always a red flag.

Also the guy wants a real Panther for a pet with his NFL rookie money. I wouldn't consider him till the 3rd.

it's a good possibility. I don't think we ignore the WR position this draft.

I would love to draft a WR but a 2nd is a bit early unless one of the top 3 guys fall. I would love to try to address the position in the 4th and 5th if they feel the need to really address it after hitting DT/DE/OG with the first 3 picks.

decisions he's made, they way he presents himself, i watched him on that NFL network show whatever its called. i remember after combines there was a line from a team about "he thinks he's some sort of philosopher"... and i got that vibe from him.

Which means he could be a flake like Ricky Williams are a solid player like Benjamin Watson.

I get the impression he will be a worse version of Rickky

Nkemdiche would scare the shite out of me but it would not shock me as a Saints pick one bit.

How about Russell Sheppard as a comparison, performance wise, not the dumbass stuff?

If they do a big trade back into the 20's for multiple second day picks, fine I guess. But even then, I'd rather them take Vernon Butler if he's there at that point.

He seems to present himself pretty well. Maybe I missed something about drug use. I thought there was only one incident with him partying in the hotel for his bday?

I wouldn't take Nkemdiche unless he fell to our 2nd round pick. Just going by percentages, but one of these highly rated D-Lineman is going to fall right into our laps at pick #47.

He's got drug history, but more importantly he is a low effort player. He's on the ground a good deal and has motivation issues. Not to mention his college stats weren't beastly. I mean, he's talented, don't get me wrong, but he absolutely shouldn't go #12 overall. I don't think him getting millions of dollars is going to make him focused, determined and hard-working.

"Fell" Funny choice of words. Didnt he "fall" out of a 2nd story balcony window? Lol.

Might as well sign Dominique Easley instead of drafting Nkemdiche.
