Lost in all of this is the PI penalty being a spot foul

It's absolutely lame that a game can be decided due to a penalty.

Every team should be chucking the ball down field and praying for the flags to fly. One penalty shouldn't put a team in field goal range.

Change it to 15 yards like in college.

Yeah I'm still mad how this team found a way to lose, but goddamn the PI penalty is overpowered.

Well anyway, glad I posted this.

Teams do this regularly.

Yeah well they should really be doing it when they need to get in field goal range and a 50 yard penalty seems reasonable for impeding the receiver in catching the ball.

Atlanta’s been doing this shite to the Saints since the 70s. Chuck it up for a Hail Mary or PI.

I mean this has been discussed for 15 + years. Game in Chicago comes to mind around 2008 where we lost on a massive PI.

I agree it's a penalty that needs to be nerfed down but at the same time, we've seen enough of Dennis Allen to know that we likely would've found a way to screw it up anyway. It's what he is at this point. Snatch enough defeat from the jaws of victory to be just mediocre at season's end. That's the DA era in Nola in a nutshell.

A lot of teams do, and every now and then they find a CB that panics and gives them the free big play. Unfortunately, as great as Adebo is, he does have a tendency to gets handsy and reacted to the receiver a little earlier than he should have

Falcons WR should have been called for the fake catch crap, that should be an offensive penalty
You penalize DB's for everything else

Should have been changed years ago! NFL is damn near unwatchable anymore and I damn near don't watch it anymore either. I'm not going to waste 4 hours watching officials throwing flags all game long. The Rams no call did it in for me!

Don't spot the opponent 14 gimme points and we wouldn't be discussing this (I don't disagree about addressing spot foul PI)

in theory the rule is fine.....imagine how pissed you'd be if shaheed had his man beat and a falcons defender just tackles him to avoid giving up the TD.

the real problem is the ticky tack and inconsistent nature of how they call pass interefence. Payton was completely right that it should be a reviewable call but they let the officials just tank it by refusing to ever overturn a pass int call and skewed the numbers/.

How did the WR get so far behind him on that play? It was unfortunate it was such a shitty throw which caused the WR to stop. But they never showed a replay off the line on RZ channel so I missed how the WR was able to get so open initially.

Adebo tried to jam him at the line with inside leverage, WR ran his route with the first step to the outside. Then further up the field Adebo tried to give him another bump, but the WR took it in stride and just faded a little further to the sideline. Adebo was in trail position after

The PI call was correct. Adebo mugged the guy.

I would rather they do it like in college and make it a 15 yard penalty
