Not liking his choices is not turning your back.
Not liking his playoff production is neither.
Nothing about 20 great years is quick.
And I already miss him.
He is the greatest Saint by far.

If Brees had retired last year, Brady would have been in Nola.

Imagine him with this team.

Saints would be playing this weekend.

I love Brees and respect him (and Payton) for what they did for this franchise, but his physical limitations cost this team this year.

I have zero desire to see Brees return. Would basically be just giving up on the season.

Maybe, but let’s not act like Brees didn’t outplay Brady 2/3 times this year. Unfortunately the time he didn’t was in the playoffs.

You think we have a chance to win the Super Bowl with Winston?

What I hope for is a joint announcement from Brees and the Saints that 2021 will be his final year. It would be like a farewell tour. During the season the marketing focus and stories would be how Brees helped the franchise and the city. It would a celebration during the entire season.

I recall Dale Brown having a farewell tour. Opponents would give him recognition at their home games.

It would be a much better way to go out besides winning a Super Bowl, which is hard to come by.

I just don't know how our offense could continue to ding and dong defenses. At some point you have to be able to throw the ball deep!

The defense plays well. If you continue to waste this defense without an offensive long ball threat, the defense will be demoralized and eventually time runs out.

All of you that are hell bent on moving on are about to find out the hard way that legendary QB's don't grow on trees.

Give him one more year and tailor the team to run heavy like Manning's last year in Denver. What do we really have to lose? Trust me... The rebuild can wait another year.

Amazing how quickly yall have turned on the best player in franchise history and most admirable. One day very soon, yall are going to miss him.

He was already gone...you just didn't realize it. That "one day" has come and gone. Nobody is going to miss 2020 Drew.

Brees has already made up his mind. He’s most likely waiting to announce because it will save the saints some cap space.

Probably has more to do with the way the league calendar affects the cap than anything else. I think he’s gonna hang it up

He’s done, probably just waiting until after the Super Bowl.

That team was carried by an all-time great defense. Our defense is very good, but not up to that caliber.

Then work on getting to that level. Brees had to throw way too many precision passes last season. I know it's odd to plan around a qb that can't throw all game but he's too smart and has enough in the tank to obviously get us there. We need a few pieces to get to the top of the mountain but adding quarterback to the list of needs takes the Saints down a peg IMO.

Usually happens when a first ballot HoF QB retires.

Having a top ten o-line and d-line always takes the sting off if you want a plan for after.

That’s not remotely easy. It’s even harder to with the salary cap situation the Saints are in. You also have to have the great defensive coaches.

Just think what you’re asking for. You’re asking for an ALL-TIME great defense. Not a solid one. You’re asking for the defense to become one of the best ever. That’s just too much to expect.

Brees, at his age, will very likely get hurt again and then you’ll be stuck with Hill.

I think he probably hasn’t announced his retirement yet is because of the cap situation. And it’s only been a few weeks, there’s no rush to really do it right now.
