I think the filing is interesting to say the least. People should be hesitant to prejudge this.
Safe to say, if there is as much dirt on Rita as some claim, we should expect to be fully informed shortly.
The case is compelling if it can be supported with facts.

This is what I was thinking. I don't know why we should completely discount the possibility here that the entire cast of characters are all just categorically terrible.

I agree. There is a long history, well supported of Benson preparing his family to take over his interests. Easy to prove.
If as the filing indicates, there is provable declining health/awareness along with these other issues of changing doctors, restricting access etc I think she has a case.
Absent some kind of huge recent event that caused a major falling out with his daughter and grandkids I think his behavior does look odd.
Can't wait to hear the other side of this story.

True in general. But for him to have married Gayle at his age, it also is highly likely there was a pre-nup which nullifies any community property regime and which spells how what she is entitled to.
There also is no way a.) there's no will, and b.) there are no trusts. The "family will be taken care of" comment strongly suggests multiple trusts at the 1st tier level [his kids] and 2nd tier level [his grandkids].
I suspect what has happened is that he has changed his will and any testamentary trusts it created to eliminate the grandkids from their ownership and management over the Saints, Pelicans, and the car dealerships.
There are 2 issues -- what can he do before his death and what he provided for post death [i.e. in wills]. Any documents he has executed could be subject to attack based on lack of capacity.
