That is how it works. There’s only one guy left to choose from because Loomis doesn’t know how to play his hand. But he gets credit for choosing that guy?

It’s just a coincidence that we are the last org to hire a new coach. Oh yea I’m sure McCarthy and Brady saw the writing on the wall right? That’s why they backed out because Loomis made it clear that Moore was the front runner right?

bullshite!!! Loomis backed himself into a corner and he’s just damn lucky Kellen Moore is still on the table and has the balls to maybe take this job. Loomis will have to give him everything he asks for which actually maybe good for us. But it doesn’t diminish the fact that Loomis is a dumb bitch

No. Even if you don't want the job you take the interview for the the experience. You can always turn the job down later. This isn't like applying ar McDonald's, so the more experience you can get with the interview process the better. These coaches who have "turned down " the opportunity to interview with the saints either knew they wanted KM or are stupid

I don’t understand this tampering thing. Didn’t the Saints already fly up to Philly to meet with him?

What if he finds out his new team will forfeit their #1 pick the next two years? Because that’s the sort of thing the NFL does when you sully their reputation.

The fact that all other teams filled their HC spots before talking to the coaches in the divisional championships tells you that the other teams knew guys like Brady or Kingsbery were not leaving their teams.

McCarthy got stood up by the Bears as a second option to Johnson and never interviewed with the Saints. He was not about to lose out to his former OC for the Saints job and have that ding his reputation for 2026. So he took himself out of the running.

As of 2/4/2025 Darren Rizzi has not officially accepted the Broncos STC job and there's a reason for that. This Moore hire is far from a lock.

I wouldn’t call it far from a lock. Basically bring reported unless something unexpected and significant happens he will get the coach. Rizzi can wait, he’s a special teams coordinator and has the Denver job if he wants it. Rizzi not leaving Denver yet doesn’t mean anything.

Kafka and Weaver still have their names in the hat. It’s not even like Rizzi is the only other option.

I don't think there is any way Rizzi is hanging around if he doesn't believe he's getting the job if Moore doesn't take it.

It already kinda feeling awkward that he's still waiting around. If he's waiting to see if he can beat out Weaver or Kafka too? I can't see that at all. That would be a real slap in the face IMO. IMO Rizzi will be and is a better coach than either of those two.

He will probably never come closer to being a HC, of course he’s hanging around. This is just part of the deal when dealing with SB coaches

Kafka and Weaver are the Rooney rule guys and are being made to wait. They’re going to feel used when they don’t get the job too. It’s just business

What are you basing this on? Weaver seems like a real up and comer and improved the dolphins defense quite a bit.

Familiarity with what the coach has done.

I'm not knocking Weaver, I like him and have posted several times I think he'd make a good HC someday, (Maybe you hire him a little early and let him grow into the roll) I'm more so saying IMO Rizzi would be better for this (Saints) job. I think Rizzi is more prepared for the show thats about to happen here. If it ain't Moore IMo it doesn't matter I'd be happy with either but I have a suspicion the the Saints rank Kafka above Weaver. Don't ask me how I came to that conclusion lol. Just a hunch.

What kind of offense does Moore run?

Seems to me he has huge OL who pave the way for Shaquan and Hurts with a few passes in there

He also had the number 2 passing offense twice in Dallas. This year imo proved he's just a good coach that can adapt to his personnel vs just running a system.

If Moore doesn’t take it. I think Kafka will.

He’s likely to get fired next year anyway along with the rest of the staff. So nothing to lose.

I listened to his interview, he’s not a bad candidate.

I’ll be monitoring this closely, I’ll guess 6 years $54M guaranteed.

Well if it was that easy to stop, they probably wouldn’t be in the Super Bowl. He seems to be able to cater to whatever style of offense there needs to be.

In Dallas and LA he had a pass heavy attack. In Philly, it’s run heavy. Being adaptable to the personnel you have is huge
