He was probably intoxicated and the cops lied and said they'd release him pending investigation ONLY if he talked to them.

That's the typical SOP to get people to talk. Works a great deal of the time.

So he’s stupid

In all seriousness it doesn’t matter whether he talked or not—it’s on video and there are witnesses. He just made their job easy by confessing

It was 18 minutes after the pro bowl game ended.

That is actually unbelievably stupid… he had a chance now he has none.

He got into a fight, who gives a frick? It's not like he beat his girlfriend, ran over someone while intoxicated, sexually assaulted several women or helped hide evidence of a murder.

You know where peoples morals lie when they defend this type of behavior. He should be punished accordingly and have to be mentally rehabbed by professionals.

Unless he instructed him to do that out loud with other people around to hear it that will be hard to prove.

Perhaps his "intoxication" was from a different substance that can be done on a car ride?

Good luck proving your 8 punches didn’t cause the orbital socket to fracture

Good luck arguing your way out of Nevada’s accessory liability law
quote:

NRS 195.020 Principals. Every person concerned in the commission of a felony, gross misdemeanor or misdemeanor, whether the person directly commits the act constituting the offense, or aids or abets in its commission, and whether present or absent; and every person who, directly or indirectly, counsels, encourages, hires, commands, induces or otherwise procures another to commit a felony, gross misdemeanor or misdemeanor is a principal, and shall be proceeded against and punished as such. The fact that the person aided, abetted, counseled, encouraged, hired, commanded, induced or procured, could not or did not entertain a criminal intent shall not be a defense to any person aiding, abetting, counseling, encouraging, hiring, commanding, inducing or procuring him or her.

The video is likely going to look very bad

Multiple people beating on a man and rendering him unconscious is going to be hard for him to rebound from
