I can’t see us trading Kamara. They’ll work something out.

kamara is playing hurt, its obvious watching him play he can run ok but has no power or push to get that extra yard when its needed

and yes they need to pay him proper value but not go stupid crazy

Trade him in a heartbeat

I'd absolutely do this. Saints will enter next year desperately needing O line depth, possibly a new LT, and at least 1-2 new receivers.

No. He is a special talent, but last year without Ingram he was banged up and this year without Murray he got banged up.

First 4 games without Ingram:

vs TB: 8 car, 29 yds, 2 TD; 9 rec 112 yds 1 TD
vs CLE: 13 car, 46 yds, 6 rec, 53 yds
@ATL: 16 car, 66 yds, 15 rec, 124 yds
@NYG: 19 car, 134 yds (7.1 avg) 3 TD; 5 rec, 47 yds

He was phenomenal those first 4 games. Him and Thomas were basically the offense. Payton wore him out

Finished 2018 with 18 total TDs:

883 rush yds, 4.6 avg, 14 rush TDs (team record I think)
81 rec, 709 yds, 4 TD

Since entering the league, only Todd Gurley has more TDs I believe...

No player in the league should get that many touches/snaps. Unfortunately the more times you're on the field/get the ball, the higher the risk injury. I hope it doesn't happen to McCaffery, but there's no way Carolina can continue doing that to him lol.

I think Payton cutting down his usage lately is smart, because down the stretch last year you could see he was worn down. He looks to be getting that burst back and I would love for him to go into the playoffs ready to roll at full strength. Problem is (as evidenced by the Tampa game), we need him to be involved because he takes the offense to another level.

Brees is 20 million dead cap money on us whether he plays or not. We have to build for the future through the draft. Ram is priority 1 now that Thomas is signed. Lattimore is 2 if we can swing it. If you can get a 1st rounder for Kamara, you have to consider it.

I don't see him going past round 3.

I think he's just as good of an NFL RB as Johnathan Taylor. Clyde's skillset is everything you need in the NFL. I guess the only knock is height (which doesn't matter if you've seen him play). If he was 6 feet tall he'd be the #1 RB on the board.

As long as Brees is around you pay him. This offense is a zero without him.

Depending on the market, it’ll be a close call.

Obviously, I don’t know.

Does Brees retire? which could free up money
Pay Bridgewater cheaper
They need another WR to complement Thomas
Will likely need another interior linemen to replace Peat

RB's can be found late in draft for what the Saints need
Helaire would be a solid pick to replace Kamara

You have some dlineman you will have to pay in the future as well
Demario Davis has been a steal
Will have to pay Lattimore big bucks
Will likely lose Apple won't be able to afford him

No way. He is a good player when he is on but saints offense has shown it can produce stats at rb. Look at what latavius put up in Kamaras absence. I’d much rather keep this defensive core together than pay kamara.

No I do not. He is a fantastic player. Once playoffs come around or even as they compete for a top seed watch them go to AK. He is one of the hardest players to scheme for in the league. You give him a fair offer and know you have 2 elite offensive players set long term.

Ramczyk and Lattimore are higher priority. Dunno if there'll be space left after them to give Kamara what hes going to demand.

the answer is how much better is Kamara for the team at 15 mil... vs say Murray and Clyde Edwards Helaire or some rookie RB for a total of about 5 mil. While being about to also pay Ram

I don’t mind spending on him because he’s basically a #2 RB and a #2 WR. We can keep finding guys to pound the ball and take the beating off him.
