It’s an adversarial game. You won’t win every game and there are some teams that will just flat out be better than other teams.

But this team ended up with the 3rd worst record in the NFL and had one of the easiest schedules.

YOU HAVE BEEN DOING SOMETHING WRONG!!!

All I can hope for is that we hire a competent coach that can take over this organization.

On its face, that is a true statement, particularly when discussing on set of results. In the case of the Saints, the fact that you have multiple sets of results that aren't what you want or what the money spent would dictate means someone is most definitely doing something wrong.

The obvious follow up question to that is “Then why did you have to fire the coach”?

Clown owner it’s been on Gayle for awhile but this cements her legacy.

Sell the team.

I don’t agree with it but the saints are a business entity. Winning is 2nd to revenue (hell, maybe not even 2nd). I’m not privy to them, but I’d be willing to bet their financials are winning even though the team isn’t.

Tells me they are no longer a results only organization. I bet they give out a bunch of participation trophies. She's easily one of the worst owners in the league, and is slowly going to hit the bottom soon enough. Just wait.

It has been FIFTEEN years since we won.

Sure we were robbed, but truth be told --- aside from KC dominating, there have been contending or winning teams who have lost and sunk have bounced back solidly in that span

Philly had a CATASTROPHE in 2020, now have 14 wins in 2/4 seasons
LA Rams sunk in 2022, now have back to back 10 win seasons

are just 2 recent examples of recognizing their issues and addressing them. drafted well. got rid of dead weight. decided to cut ties when they had to. etc.

It’s the same thing Denise Allen said to Glazer last week.
“I didn’t do anything wrong. The owner just wanted to go in a different direction. “

I have posted this many times in greater detail, but he's trying to spin a series of illogical moves and complete mistakes into a "we don't engage in results-oriented thinking" self-delusion.

The error is ignoring the mistakes, which I'm sure he also spins into non-mistakes within his internal self-delusion.

Don’t you think, at this point with comments like this and the gum smacking, he’s just trolling the fanbase?

No he's just beyond arrogant and is lying to himself because of it.

IN THEORY, he's correct that results-oriented thinking is suboptimal to process-oriented thinking.

IN REALITY, his process is broken and he won't admit it (this is where the arrogance comes into play)

They have not been for as long as he's been GM, which is a good thing.

The problem isn't this philosophy. It's that his process is broken.

Are we really expecting anything else from this guy at this point? This is same guy who said to “look beyond the results”….

Right

You can have good process bad results, it happens

Mickey and co. are bad process and results and can’t seem to acknowledge it because hey this worked when we had a HOF coach and QB.

As someone said though, the team is probably still profitable so doubt Gayle is concerned at all. Hopefully apathy starts setting in with the fan base, people stop renewing season tickets, and they’re forced to clean house….but I doubt it.

I really don’t know at this point if Mickey is that arrogant/stupid to believe what he’s selling or if he’s executing the internal plan and willing to take all of the public heat as long as the checks keep coming

You have to fire this guy now because he is unmanageable. He isn't concerned about results or outcomes.

I believe being process oriented is always better than being results oriented. You can absolutely make correct decisions and get an unfavorable result, but you have to be honest with yourself when your decisions lead to bad results.

I don't disagree with Mickey's statement, but it shows nobody in the building can see the fricked up process that led to these results. He's talking like this was one bad season sandwiched between 11 win seasons when it's the worst finish in 20 years and the culmination of the last 4 years that led us here. And somehow he was the only person who couldn't see it?
