The bigger issue for the falcons is the cousins/penix debacle.

Correct.

Zac Robinson hasn't shined at OC, either.

That pick is currently sitting at #9, and it’s the kind of trade that can set a franchise back a decade

Set them back a decade? What?

For every Julio there’s at least 5 Marcus Davenports. Could work, but odds are definitely stacked against you. For instance, I think the Jags are going to ultimately regret the Travis Hunter trade. 2 way player sure, but pedestrian stats on both sides of the ball.

I didnt understand the Hunter Hype.

But, Im not a GM, and I dont drink columbian coffee crystal either.

Offense Hunter and defense hunter occupied two of the top 10 rookie grades per PFF before his injury. He has a 100 yard receiving game and hasn’t allowed 100 yard game at CB. I wouldn’t doubt him

Can somebody tell this to the Pelicans.

OP, are you saying James Pearce was a bust? Or saying that he didn't warrant what is shaping up to be a top 10 pick (that was traded out of)?

Too soon to say but based on this year’s production he’s no Myles Garrett or Micah Parsons. Would he be 9th overall this year? And if the Falcons implode which, at 3-6 it looks like they might since preseason expectations were so high that could absolutely be a top 10 or top 10 adjacent pick. They still have the Bucs, Seahawks, and Rams left this year.

Maybe a tad hyperbolic but you could argue the Davenport trade was the beginning of serious holes showing in our roster. What did that set us back? Some abysmal first round picks after that but he was particularly costly.

Didn't the rams go 2-3 years in a row with no 1st?

Yes and one of the front office guys now runs the Jags, they traded the 5th overall pick, 2nd and 4th rounder and next year's 1st rounder for Travis Hunter.

The Browns drafted Mason Graham, Quinshon Judkins, and Dylan Sampson and still have the Jags 2026 1st rounder.

Nah it wasn't that specific trade. Davenport still provided you a plus DE for a few years. The constantly missing on nearly every high pick was bad. Seriously --- 6 straight years of mediocre drafting & throwing away picks like no other.

2018: Tre'Quan Smith and every other pick became nothing
2019: Erik McCoy and CJGJ; nobody else
2020: Cesar Ruiz (meh), Zach Baun (oh look someone else), traded the farm for Trautman
2021: Payton Turner, Pete Werner, Paulson Adebo, Ian Book etc
2022: The famous Chris Olave & Trevor Penning year
2023: Bresee andwasted picks on Foskey, Miller, Saldiveri, Haener,

Refreshing:
2024: FINALLY righting the ship - Fuaga, McKinstry (2 starters); only 2 picks in the top 4 rounds.
2025: Banks, Shough, Broughton (IR), Sanker, Stutsman, Riley, Neal, Diggs - all getting PT

They also put up 20+ Points against the Colts.

There not exactly a push over. Dude.

what I'm saying is don't just dismiss the idea out of reflex. Consider the possibility

The Falcons are the same team they’ve been since 2017. Lots of talent and no consistency or identity. Another 6-7 win year for them.
