I see a lot of talk about Jameis coming back for next year, and while I think he's our best option if we cant pick up one of the FA QBs, he's not going to be cheap, or on a team friendly deal. Expect top 15 QB pay, and long term.

Every single team in the NFC South is looking or will be looking for a franchise QB in the next year. Jameis has options, and one of those will be Tampa Bay, and the "redemption arc" story will be hard to beat.

That being said, while its not a preferred situation, dont be surprised if we end up with our own redemption arc in Teddy. He'll be cheaper than Jameis, gives us an opportunity to sigh him to a 1 yr deal, and he already knows our program. Not the sexy QB we all want, but it might be out best option if we just want a Band-Aid.

I’d rather roll with Hill than pay for Bridgewater

Teddy is on a 4 Million 1 year deal. We may be able to get him for half of that, considering his play in Denver.

I’d rather draft a rookie QB and be middle of the road than to overpay Teddy to be middle of the road.

I’d rather use that money on a solid TE or roll it over for following season

Long term starting QB money is 25 mil a year. The only other option is one year prove it deals for QBs once thought to be a possible franchise QB. Has Jameis proved enough in 7 games to prove he deserves a shot at that long term Starting QB money? Maybe I don't think he takes less than 3 years 60 mil.

He did have a decent record despite I would call average play at the position
I wouldn't overpay for sure
I would like to see him with a healthy Michael Thomas though and a better WR corp

What is the obsession with getting away from Jameis? We had no one at receiver last year, and he was still winning games.

And getting rid of him for Bridgewater This place never disappoints.

If you argue he's a very good qb, then the argument is followed with that he may not be cheap and could have 4-6 teams competing for his services.

No one in the NFC south is signing Winston

And no one is giving him a long term deal

could be plan a but...

what if saints shoot for Wilson first.

Does jameis get upset?

what's the play on longevity of contract?

what are other teams offering him?

there's a lot to sort through than just the obvious of jameis and saints do like eachother.

Yes he is. He's still largely unproven and coming off ACL surgery.

Something in the neighborhood of 2 yrs, 45m should do it. Compared to other teams that are going to pay Carr 40m or Hebert 45m in the near future, its a steal.

Wonder if the attraction of the saints for Russell was based on Payton being here

well of course it helped but i think we still have a strong case we could make to Russell especially if we find a way to extend terron.

Bruh I don't know if I would trust this dude with a big contract. Under Allen this dude could easily revert back to his turn over prone self.

None of the QBs in this draft, are long term fixes.

That lack of reading comprehension shows its face again. I've never suggested we get away from Jameis UNLESS we can get someone better.

I also think that this will be a year that we finally eat up our Cap space instead of kicking it down the road. I don't think we resign Jameis if he wants 20-25 Million a year and a multi year deal, which is starting QB money for a multi year deal. I only THINK that Teddy could possibly be in talks if we LOSE Jameis to somewhere else. He would be a cheap option who already knows the offense, and lets be honest, showed just as much as Jameis did when he was the starter for Brees.
