I think we should. Dude is funny AF but runs hard and can put the team on his back. Seems like a no brainer

Eh, no.

He’s reportedly far away from what Detroit wanted to pay him so they signed Montgomery for 3/$18mm. Really not trying to pay a non-elite RB more than $6mm. He offers next to nothing as far as explosive long runs. Something like 15/17 TD were from within the 10.

Yup. I watched every lions game last year and the year before and he is absolutely not worth it. I love the guy but he’s just not worth that contract. Great guy tho.

Not sure if the money would make sense but I’m a fan of the dude. Wouldn’t be mad to have him here in Nola

that's right.

couldn't hurt to sign a veteran but the price has to be right.

I’ve been saying this for weeks. He’s a great locker room guy and leader and he’s the big bell cow type Rb we need that you can hand it to 20x a game between the tackles. Then go spend a mid round pick on one of the many good Rb that will be there in that range line Tyjae Spears, Zach Charbonnet, Tank Bigsby or Devon Achane. You can probably get Williams for $4-6 million a year too.

If I were Mickey I would definitely be reaching out to Jamaal's agent as well as the agents for D'Onta Foremen.

Either one of these guys would be nice to have while AK is suspended and both would complenet AK well when he returns.

That's exactly what Jamaal Williams or D'Onta Foreman would be.

And yes add a mid Rd rookie.

I was actually going to make a post yesterday saying that if we could have got out from under Hill's albatross of a contract, Jamaal Williams could replace his goaline/short yardage production for 1/3 - 1/2 the cost

Jamaal Williams Market Value

D'Onta Foreman Market Value

Even if these were a little low I still can see either getting 6+ mil/yr.

The RB market is not what it used to be unless your a game changing franchise RB.

Jamaal Williams is not a cheap vet, he’s not even a reasonable vet. If he was either he would be back in Detroit. WAY too much money, at least what he’s asking at this moment.

Williams left the Lions over money. They paid Montgomery instead. He’s not coming here for anything less than 6 and he’s already turned that number down so he’s likely looking for more.

The dude scored most of his TDs at the goal line with maybe the best run blocking line in the nfl. Paying him that contract would be a mistake.

He’s looking for a payday.

Keep in mind that Mark Ingram left the saints looking for big bucks and ended up signing a deal with the Ravens for barely more than the Saints were offering.

Sometimes the open Market doesn't validate the asking price and a player has to take what is offered.

This is a buyer’s market for RB. Draft has a bunch too

Saints will get their guy on a nice deal, if they so choose
