If and when he has a competent Oline… yes, I think he can emerge as our QB1.

He has all the tools both mentally and physically. Protect him and let him develop his game. Love what I see from Shuck.

His YPA was 5.7

It was a bad game, which is ok.

Atlanta has a good defense

yeah, Carolina doesn't rush the passer like Atlanta can.

The Saints ground game was also nonexistent and that's the best way from keeping a group like that from pinning their ears back and getting after the QB.

Shough has a good arm but having to throw the ball a lot due to a lack of running game and playing from behind with this garbage O-line is going to be a tough ask.

It's 3rd in the league in defensive sacks.

We are really bad at OL

Recipe for disaster

In all fairness to Shough, we shouldn’t be criticizing or even sizing his game when the o-line is playing so poorly.

Some fans won’t see it this way.

Even Kamara going out hurt Shuck. AK can pick up a blitz pretty good.

The Falcons game plan was to pressure Shuck all game. We couldn’t answer it.

He held the ball too long on a couple of plays, but for the most part he got the ball out quick like he was asked to do.

CKM definitely soaked in this game as a learning process. He has to have a better game plan in this situation. He was coaching yesterday like he had a roster of pro bowlers. It wasn’t going to work.

Then cut the team some slack. Especially Shuck. He played pretty poised football considering his protection and CKMs cute play calling.

Silver lining is the defense was outstanding minus a couple big plays that killed us.

We got a lot better running when he went out

Moore just forgot about it and then tried to play Taysom for some ungodly reason.

The only answer. Anyone saying anything definitively either way is just being a blowhard or wishfully thinking.

I think he’s promising enough to give another season with hopefully some more pieces around him. I wouldn’t mind of there is a reclamation project type guy out there that we could maybe bring in to push him a bit and see if KM can be a qb whisperer type offensive coach.

Either way we’re likely going to be picking top 10ish in 27 again so if he’s not then hopefully there will be a more solid qb class.

Hard to say when Moore brings in Taysom for two yard runs in key downs

I hated when Payton did the same thing. The way that Kubiak used him last year was the correct way. If he was younger, he coulda been a star playing that role in an offense.

Now he’s to old and his body can’t take that constant punishment.

CKM giving rattler the first half of the season is bothering me more and more.
Would have been nice to see shough work while Kendre Miller/ any sort of run game was still available.

Also for the love of god stop using Taysom in EVERY short yard situation.

So we can never factor in a QB having 1 starting OL from the beginning of the season healthy into the QB’s eval? Seems like a narrow road to travel down

Agreed. Shough has shown enough. I don’t think he will ever be Josh Allen 2.0, but I can see a scenario where he can be a more athletic Jared Goff. I’m not sold on KM as coach but I’m not completely out either. Kubiak struggled here too and a lot of people questioned him once everything fell apart after those first two games. He was scapegoated. Now look at what he’s doing in Seattle with a normal OL and more talented offensive weapons.

I’d rather the Saints just spend FA and the draft accumulating offensive weapons and OL to surround Shough and give Moore no excuses. You spend FA getting a Guard, drafting another and getting a WR, TE/RB, you’d need to see drastic improvement in the offense. If you do all of that and the offense looks the same, you know Moore is just a McDaniels clone than anything else

TBD...for sure.

Shough needs to get better in the Redzone. I don't think he threw a pass into the endzone once they were in the Redzone. KMoore, didn't help with the playcalling but if Shough figures out the Redzone play I think he can be pretty good.
