Is selling the Saints pretty much the only way Loomis would be out a job?

Seems like there should be way more pressure by the media at least to get rid of him both locally and nationally. He may be a salary cap wiz but not when the team roster is suffering from all the bad moves and contracts.

I believe if he whiffs horribly (again) on this next coach, Gayle will finally make the changes we wanted.
But I think it’s far more likely that he selects a competent retread coach that will keep the team in the 8-9 win range for the next 3-4 years, and he will stick around. If he picks a young unknown, he’s taking a gamble on his future.

If someone was partially responsible for you becoming rich and powerful beyond your wildest dreams, would you fire them, even if the kind of sucked at their job, assuming there was no threat from their incompetence to that wealth and power?

Yep, because Saints/NFL will just ban that media person from team meetings/conference calls… so they are scared shitless to ask any hard questions…

The coach won't matter. This team is incapable of winning.

Absolutely correct under the current idiot staff. Now that Allen is gone, I think any mediocre HC can get this team back to a fringe playoff team. There is talent there and hopefully a good draft with high pick incoming. The NFL can turn quickly these days.
I’m not talking about sustained success just .500 average teams for the future. Probably all GBenson wants anyway.

I said winning. Average is not winning.

He is sleeping with Gayle.

(I don't know if this is true, but it's the only thing that makes sense)

Jeff Duncan wrote a column for today basically saying the Saints have some talent and doubled down on that thought on Twitter. So don’t expect local media pressure any time soon.

WWL as station of Saints was told never again on Buddy D types after his passing.

NOLA media is Nick Underhill bag carrying types for Airline Dr.

Right now Loomis is our discount Jerry Jones. He’s an owner/GM. The only way he’s out of the job is if the team is sold to an outsider and he is fired or if he passes away/suffers a serious medical issue. That’s it. I see none of those options happening soon, so Saints fans’ dedication is about to get seriously tested.

Yup, Scooter likes his access. As mentioned the days of Buddy D telling it like it is with NOLA media are long gone.

Correct. This isn't New York or Philly.

This is a small city and the Saints wield immense power. They can just ban you and shut you out, and there is nothing you can do about it.

Very doubtful. New ownership will want to make their mark.
