He thinks winning NFL MVP determines first ballot voting. He must not know that numbers rule every sport.

He was robbed of an MVP in 09, but won the Super Bowl MVP

His 2011 season would've easily won MVP in 90% of other years (Rodgers was god like)

HoF lock. It's not even a discussion. He's top 10, at the very least fringe top 10 and about to be in it.

Why would Brett Favre be First Ballot and not Drew Brees?

-first and only time a player has won 3 consecutive MVP's
-longest consecutive starting streak in NFL history
-two Super Bowl appearances
-he's Brett Freaking Favre

Just a few reasons

What do these guys have in common that Drew Brees doesn't?
They have all played with an All Pro Wide Receiver, Brees has not

There is NO QUESTION Brees is top ten. The question should be is he the greatest of all time?

Greatest of all time?
He will more thank likely finish number one all time on both career passing yards and passing TD's. He needs to play 3 years and average 3700 yards passing and 37 TDs/ year to be number one all time in both categories.

So, the fact he has a higher completion percentage, more yards per game, and more touchdowns per game than all those guys means nothing

You need to take an into level stats class bro

.no one in their right mind would put Brees ahead of Elway, Montana, Unitas, Brady, Manning, Stauback, Marino, Favre, Young, Rodgers, Big Ben, Bradshaw, and there are others.

To continue your trolling, there is not a person in their right mind who would say Big Ben is better than Drew. I don't know that Terry Bradshaw would say he was a better QB than Drew, he played with a dozen HOF players when he won his super bowls. Rodgers is close but hasn't done it as long as Drew, has as many titles as Drew, so I think that's a tough argument to make.

If Drew can break yardage, TD and Comp% records, I think it's pretty easy to say he will be a first ballot HOFer, which I think he would be close to if he hung it up today. Even in todays crazy QB friendly pass whacky NFL, he's the only guy to have thrown for 5,000 yards more than once, and has done it while maintaining an ultra high com%. Has been overlooked a lot because the Saints haven't won as much, because we have terrible defensive teams for a majority of his time in NOLA.

I compare Drew to Kurt Warner. Both great qbs but both benefited greatly from the systems they played in. Both also played much better inside than outside stadiums. Also, Kurt Warner wasn't a first ballot hall of famer. And I would say his tenure with the Rams was much better than Brees time in Nola. So I def think it's realistic to say Brees won't be a first ballot hall of famer

I fricking hate when people say this shite. The benefit of their system? You mean their playbook which all 32 teams have? That must mean Brady is a huge benefit of his system in checking down to Julian Edelman or his RB then. He still has to get the ball to his receiver, it's not like he goes out there and boom! the system is getting me my touchdowns, not my arm or reads.

People think just because he throws a lot of passes that makes him a system QB. That's just dumb though. The majority of QBs in NFL history could never put up his numbers even if they threw a bunch of passes. Not to mention he's never had a pro bowl WR and usually has really bad defenses. Brees has the big numbers, decent amount of wins including the Big One, and the honors/accolades. He is definitely a top ten QB in NFL history.

I would say he's behind Favre at 5 or 6. Ahead of Marino because he never won a SB

Give him 3 healthy years and another Super Bowl and he'll be argued with Peyton as #2-4 of all time.

Something people easily overlook, but I still think Manning is the best ever & I have been watching NFL football since 1967...

TIL that other QBs don't play in "systems", they just kind of go out there and do there thing and are great.
