Duncan talks to jeff ireland about the draft
LINK
They see taylor at corner.
They see jackson at mike.
They see the tackle from air force at 3 tech.
I thought it was interesting what he said about taylor. He could battle adebo or move inside. They don't see him at safety.
Ireland also talks about penning and compares his athleticism to a jake long. Said he was probably there at 19 since he played at a small school.

Very interesting to say the least. I think I'm excited most about either Pennington or Taylor. I believe Olave will be a natural fit at #2 WR. I like Adebo where he is, BUT if Taylor could fight for that position, let's see what he can do.
I like the fact that Taylor is physical and long/lanky. I just want to see Penning maul guys mostly.

This guy isn’t battling Adebo for anything bro
He’ll be battling Ken Crawley for corner reps and whoever our special teams gunners are for an active roster spot on gameday.

All I know is teams need at least 4 solid corner backs. 2 outside, 1 nickel, and a solid backup for either. No corner seems to stay healthy all year...

Come on man. That’s front office speak.
Adebo was the superior prospect, had a solid rookie year and has a 1 year jump on Taylor.
Let’s just be realistic.
One day, we have someone saying Olave might be better than Justin Jefferson and the next, we are acting like Adebo is trash and his reps are really going to be threatened by some project rookie.
Let’s just be realistic. I don’t care what Ireland says. He’s a scout and front office guy. He has no input on who starts.
“Battle” is a relative term. He has no chance to overtake Adebo this season unless Adebo gets injured.

Taylor is a year older than adebo for what that is worth

It says 20 multiyear starters selected in 8 years. Its an ok , but not grearesult., Although they trade away 30 percent of their draft moving up

I think it is interesting that they think he can play nickle. May be expecting CGJ to want too much money. Or could be a matchup piece if we play a team that utilizes a big slot. We have interesting pieces on defense where several secondary players could potentially play different positions and scheme against certain teams or move people around due to injuries

Yeah, but who's older in NFL years?

Why’s this so hard to understand?

BC JJ has better film and it translated to the best 2 season start for a WR in NFL history.
Now, if we would have drafted Jameson Williams, I’d say there is a chance he could be 90% JJ or potentially better than him.
We didn’t though. We drafted the solid guy who probably has better character, but also has infinitely less upside instead.
Which is fine, but we should have realistic expectations.
He’s a number 2 receiver. Not a future first ballot hall of famer like JJ.

JJ COULD be in the hall of fame or could be the next Brandin Cooks
