4 Mil a year is a big contract? what are you smoking? I personally thought it was a steal, not to mention there is a punter making more per year than him?

Here's an example of the wrong logic.

In his four years in NO, he has played 16 games once.

You compare him to Lynch, so I will too. In the last 4 years, Lynch missed one game (back in 2011).

You are looking for reliability in the RB position, and Ingram needs to figure out how to stay healthy. That would solidify this deal.

No one saying he's Lynch. He's making a third of what Lynch makes.

...and almost getting a thousand yards behind the OL we fielded last year is completely astounding.

None of his injuries were major injuries though. He had a toe issue and a broken hand. Dings happen.

Nearly a thousand yards, behind our offensive line, in only 13 games. Dude is a steal at 4

It's big compared to his worth to the team. It's overpaying a not very talented RB. Has nothing to do with Bama or I wouldn't say we could have released him (or offered 2.5 mil max) and drafted Yeldon. We could have gotton Yeldon, or Ameer Abdullah, or mike Davis for example (among many others), who are much better backs for way less money.

Boxcar, there's no need to play dumb.

I'm talking about market value.
Certainly, you can see that.

It's pretty fricking tough for a RB to play all 16 games.

It should also be noted he never played less than 10 games, which means as I said all of his injuries were minor. He had foot issues the first and third years and a broken hand last year.

Bad luck happens to almost every player. His wasn't really that bad.

Edit:
Keeping score he only missed 14 games in 4 years at a position that has the highest injury rate in the league. That's 3.5 games a year.

Yeah, not like he has a recurring ACL/MCL issue.

You think he's at best 17th in the league? And he isn't worth middle of the pack money.

Having not played a single snap in the NFL, these backs are better than Ingram, a probowl running back in the NFL?

He has 582 career carries, most starting RBs go through that in 2 - 2.5 years. So even at 25, he's still a young 25 per NFL standards.

Better yet, his average cost of his contract would make him tied for 15th (taking out Rice & Jackson) in 2015. His rank will more than likely drop even lower when Gore, Reggie, Spiller, Bush, Matthews, etc. sign their FA deals. Also, I think we can all expect that Loomis would have his contract count for less than that the first year.

Bush's contract was 4mil annually before he was cut by Detroit. Mathews and Spiller had better individual seasons than Ingram, but they're more injury prone than he is and they are both older (Injury prone for Spiller is playing a game and being KO'd of it).

I think he's paid where I value a RB in this system. I think he could have easily gotten a 5-6mil/yr contract elsewhere. I believe we gave him a 4th year while other teams may have given 3.

Lmao you morons that act like our Front Office can do no wrong are fricking great.

This was a terrible deal. I love how people are trying to point out the yards Ingram would have had if he didn't miss games. Holy frick what is wrong with y'all? The dude missed games because he is injury prone. Not because he was working for the peace core.

He will never be the RB some of y'all on here act like he is. Sad when mediocrity is a shining hope to our franchise.

So Ingram isn't injury prone?

How many games do you have to miss to be considered injury prone? Because his number is really close if he isn't on the list.

Being a third alternate for the Pro Bowl is a measure of being a great player? I don't think some of y'all actually know how the pro bowl works.
