Multiple media guys today like Rapp and so on are speculating that he's not going to take a job this year and will go back to Fox, and that there "doesn't seem to be a true fit for him" this year.

That would...really suck.

Fire Allen and let Sean finish his contract here with Brady

Some team is ready to hire Payton (likely Denver), Payton is ready to accept. The Saints are angling for more draft compensation. This news spin is designed to put pressure on the Saints to cave in their demands.

Could be a play to get saints to lower price tag.

Certainly could be that.

The reports are no team has scheduled a 2nd interview.

Could be Teams and Payton telling the Saints, we will schedule a 2nd interview if you reduce your price to "____"

And honestly the Saints have no pressure. The teams with the openings have the pressure to make the right hire for their current opening. ESPECIALLY Denver who has proven themselves to be pretty damn bad at this hiring thing and have a crisis at the QB position.

If this is the case, then frick Sean Payton. We already know he is a pompous a-hole.

He will never be hotter than he is now. He may be waiting for his dream job (Cowboys). IDK

He is a clown and an overrated coach IMO.

doesn't bother me much. compensation doesn't change much for me next year. they want him next year, you still have to pay up. i didn't want picks in this year's draft anyways. i want to suck this year.

Compensation doesn’t change

The teams that need a coach need a coach NOW. If you pass on him in 2023, you’re not getting a shot in 2024. If you pass on him in 2024 and wait for his contract to expire, you’re not getting him for the 2025 season either.

This is being so underestimated in discussions regarding this. The pressure is on the Broncos to fix Russ very quickly. Might have been the worst contract in sports last year relative to pay and actual value added.

People act like we should just bow to the Broncos and their extremely limited draft assets just because Sean might want to go there. No. This is a business. Denver acquires enough assets to make us real players in the draft and ensure we get rightly compensated for the GUARANTEED value of getting a ~top 5 head coach in the league or they frick off. Simple as.

I agree, and like next year's draft more. But another full year of the Sean Payton circus would be nauseating.

or dare i say allows for more healing time between saints and coach, they quietly agree to an extended contract before they toss dennis to the curb.

For myself I am done kicking the can down the damn road like we have since 09.
If CSP doesn't wish to work with all concerned I'm not concerned with him this year. Go back to fox.

Not buying it.

He was putting it out there mid season who would be on his staff. Sounds to me like a guy not intent on sitting 2 years.

Call his bluff.

I'd come out and leak that next year, Saints will expect 2 1sts, 2 2nds, and 2 3rds.
