I’m emotionally broke

I’ve invested more time into this team for past 28 years than 98%. I’ve never said this before but I’m just fricking emotionally broke now. It’s been gradual but I’ve reached a tipping point. I don’t know where my anger needs to be directed. It’s everything . The league. Some players. Payton quit on us. Fans bagging on drew. The incredible horrible luck we constantly have. I can’t take any of it. The worst part is I don’t know how to emotionally disengage. It’s all I know. We deserved to win. I can’t do this much longer. I need real change. The worst part is I have a hemorrhoid in my arse that feels like a fricking backstabbing knife. It’s a metaphor of roger Goodell the past decade.

Grown men playing a kids game in goofy armor my man. Keep it all in perspective.

Meh...NOLA no call did it for me ... the Brees kneeling shite and COVID ended it

It was the Rams no call that I hit rock bottom and realized sports is just entertainment, and not real life that should break you. Ever since that game, I root for them to win, but if they lose just brush it off. Feels good.

I dont know how. I hate losing. I’m a competitor spirit. Did I say I hate fricking losing?

It's tough that nobody would listen to our warnings. I'm heckin frustrated as all get out bc rt3 doesn't even like the Saints. He rarely posts in threads here all he cares about is his hobby of jinxing us each week.

I feel ya. This season has been brutal. I'm gonna go to the falcon game in 2 weeks with as much alcohol as I can drink, and I'm gonna boo this team for 3 straight hours. I won't be able to talk till new year's. Then I'm out till the draft

It’s really too bad because from the emotional standpoint this team post Katrina helped revive NOLA and the Saints were the heart of the city for a long while.
Team has just quit and team and city have both just gone to shite now. Really is sad. The rams no call really just changed the trajectory of the organization on a dime.

It reminds me of my 1st Marriage.....

It sucks but you’ll find things to fill the void. The No Call ripped my soul out and I never really fully healed. I’m still a Saints fan but I’m not as invested as I once was so it makes this year more bearable.

Reached that point after 2020.

We went from the season being over to....the season being over.

One of the best posts youve made. Im about there too. That was so disheartening on so many levels. Worst loss since the no call

In a lot of ways you can’t really say that these past two weeks. 70% of the team has played its arse off.

Imagine being this invested in a football team……..

You’re right about the decline of the city being tied into it. When the next owner moves the Saints I’ll probably never watch the NFL again. Just some sad shite.

Bruh, Chad, go drink a beer, take a shot, get some sleep. You’ll be ok in the morning.

I don’t need to imagine it and I don’t feel remorseful for the depth of my fanaticism.

The Cardinals game was it for me. I knew the Saints weren't statistically out for the year but that game showed me all I needed to know about this team and this coach. We rag on you Chad, let's be honest you bring it on yourself, but find something more engaging to do with your gamedays. Don't even watch the NFL, pick up a hobby if you don't have one already. One of the only good things about the state is the outdoors, it's one of the things I miss in the Houston area. The fishing up here sucks.

You can watch the game for fun and entertainment. But dude, sports is a business at the end of the day. You ain't part of the team. They don't know you so they don't owe you. So why "invest" your emotions and feel bad into something that you have no control over with?
