Reality is Watson has a no trade clause he can dictate which team he wants to go to. The Texans can accept a deal for 8 1st it dosent mean shite unless Watson will agree to the trade.

Let's use the Saint only offer two 1st and a second and the Panthers offer three 1st and three 2nd if Watson dosent want to go sign with the Panthers then the Texans either roll with Watson or accept the best trade partner that Watson will agree to play for.
It would benefit Watson to go play for a team that isn't handcuffed by his salary and lack of draft capital if he wants to win

Not realistic. Saints and Panthers are not the only 2 teams trying to trade for him. I would be very concerned about Tampa.

I think Tampa is in a similar boat w weapons. Their oline is expected to get weaker, but they have Evans & Godwin. Not sure who else they have under contract, but Gronk & Fournette are expected to leave.

Carolina has Moore & CMC, but rumors are that CMC is part of the trade package. So they would need to sell him on FAs out there or 3rd round rookies to pair w Moore

As far as what is being rumored, Saints will still have a good oline, Kamara, MT13 & Harris

Three 1st and a player. And if you have to give up more you do it. You cannot pass up the opportunity to acquire a franchise QB that has just entered his prime. Loomis has to get this done

This.

It’s not a rental, it’s a long term franchise QB.

If Watson is suspended it will only be for a handful of games and you have Taysom which would be a seamless transition

I honestly would be good with even something like four first round picks, Davenport, and onyemata. I think Davenport just makes too much sense. We probably won’t have cap to sign him and is good enough plus potential to have value. Not to mention we are deep at the position and we are expecting Payton Turner to be the replacement for him. At least we hope. Onyemata is a bit of a blow to us but I think we can recover from it. We can live off day 2 picks for a while and be ok. We probably do better with those picks than firsts anyway.

With the cap issues we need our draft picks. We also have a guy in the building who was 5-2 with no Michael Thomas and no Wil Lutz, and who already knows the offense.
Good thing you aren’t the GM. Cause Winston is not in our building, he is a free agent who is gonna command more than we can probably afford without giving up some assets.

2022 and 2023 1st and 2nd rounders. Make it happen. If they want starters throw in Peat and Davenport. Peat hasn't lived up to his contract and Turner can replace Davenport. But be damn sure that Goodell won't hit him with a year long suspension.

This years 1st and 3rd. Next years 1st and 2024 a second. Peat for damn sure. Hell I’ll throw in another 4th if that’s the only way we could move him lol and Davenport.

I really hope loomis gets to sit down with DW. So he can sell him on the future he would have here and the support he will be shown by not only the fans but the front office. Getting the players around him to win the ship

3 first round picks

Peat or maybe Onyemata. We can always sign Hicks as a stop gap. DT is important but not THAT important
Davenport

That’s it.

Peat was restructured so cannot be traded cap-wise. It will likely be a player/players from Davenport, Ruiz, McCoy, Adebo, Baun, Onyemata, Jenkins, Davis, Roby, Turner, CJGJ.

Trade: nothing
Re-sign Jameis and build through the draft

Our cap situation will make our team terrible if we take on Watson’s contract, trade our vets and without first / second round picks we need to sustain our talent
