That’s about what’s it going to take. And I’d still do it.

Just the picks, no players.

Giving up a ton of picks plus a All-Pro/Pro Bowl type at such a critical position really makes me kind of hesitate.

It should make any team hesitate/thinkrealhard about it
Its a franchise changing decision how ever it goes.

Right, it’s not Madden
. You’re going to have to give up franchise altering capital to get a player like Watson.

I argued the same in another thread...to the point we may not improve at all because of the cost.

This is exactly my point. Getting Watson doesn't really help if you go back to giving up 30 every Sunday.

Having a top defense still won’t get you anywhere if you’re starting a journeyman at QB
Posted on 3/13/22 at 10:20 am to DomincDecoco
I would give up any draft picks it takes, any players that wouldn't completely screw up our cap which isn't many players.
Posted on 3/13/22 at 10:41 am to Damone
You have to give up players, if for no other reason than Carolina’s 2022 picks are significantly more valuable than ours… so we are negotiating from a weak position already

rather get k pickett than tade your future for s watson. you be looking at mike ditka type of trade i mean 4 to 5 draft picks for one player really
Posted on 3/13/22 at 11:08 am to Laaz2750
As long as they are comparable, it shouldn’t matter as Watson needs to waive his no trade clause.
Posted on 3/13/22 at 11:21 am to Weekend Warrior79
Ya, the no trade clause is the only reason we have a chance against teams with better draft picks.

Wilson and Watson situations aren't the same. It wasn't actually public known that Wilson was on the move even we all suspected it would happen. We all know Watson and the team relationship is done. Watson also hold the cards so you don't have to break the bank to get him. I do believe two 1st rounders will happen and probably both 2nd rounders as well. You may not see a star player move with this deal.

A qb changes everything. Just look at cincy this last yr with burrow.
His o line might be the worst in the nfl and he overcame it.
I feel like the saints have enough talent where they could get away with it. The trade for watson will hurt for sure but you have to do it. Those picks aren't going to hit at 100%.
