I’m fortunate enough to be in the dome for the homecoming and the NFC championship, as well as some huge LSU games. For me nothing compares to that pop when Gleason blocked the punt. That was raw emotion that probably can’t be duplicated again. Incredible day / night.
ETA: since everyone is picking those I’ll take the pats on Monday night football in 09. That atmosphere was awesome, and turned into a giant party where we sit

I’ve been to a lot of Saints games, some of the biggest moments in the team’s history, and the return to the dome is one of the most amazing things I have experienced.
I flew in from Iraq to go to the game and arrived early. As soon as they opened the dome we went in. The crowd outside was crazy and it was hot. The band playing outside escapes me, but it wasn’t just some band...
As people started to trickle in, people all around us started to embrace and cry and it hit me. These people hadn’t seen one another since the storm. I had season tickets as a kid and I remember being “friends” with everyone around us. We didn’t associate with them outside of the dome, but in the dome we were neighbors. All of these “seat neighbors” didn’t know if their friends were okay until that game.
I watched all of these little reunions, mostly happy, some sad, and the brevity of the situation broke me. When they shined that light on the dome roof, I started to cry. When U2 started belting out I cried like a baby; a good relieving, sad, and happy cry all at once. When Gleason blocked the punt and Deloach scored I could finally breathe.
It was not just a sporting event. It was one of the most amazing things I have ever experienced.

I’m torn on this. My first inclination is the Super Bowl, to see that magnificence in person. The only thing though is the day of, watching, and the aftermath in Nola and the Quarter specifically was EPIC. One of my absolute favorite experiences of my life bar none.
So I’d say the 06 return game otherwise. I was outside the stadium but didn’t go in. I can only imagine having seen how rowdy and jubilant everyone was outside then the Green Day/U2 concert and game were amazing to watch. The emotion was otherworldly.

You’re right that Patriots dragging was amazing

100% 06 Atlanta Domecoming
I remember them saying on the broadcast after you could have lined up any team in NFL history against the saints that night and they would lose automatically

NFC Championship vs. The Vikings
for whatever reason I felt more jacked that night than the night of the SB.
I was totally proud and happy when the Saints won the Super Bowl but just more pumped when they won to get to that game.
I really can't explain

Domecoming was great for a half. The Vikings game was great for 5 quarters. I honestly think it was one of the best games in nfl history.

I've been at every Saints game mentioned in this thread except the first Saints game.
Atlanta game was a spiritual experience. Minnesota NFC championship couldn't drink second half I was so nervous. First playoff game vs Rams was great

Take away the obvious ones and being there to drop the banner was another great moment to see live for me. That game wasnt as good as the first matchup but something about that banner made me happy in my pants all night long

It’s hard to put anything into the classification of 2006 ATL simply because it wasn’t just a football game.
Hakim drops the ball was amazing another great experience. To say it was better than 09 NFC championship game is just impossible for me. Growing up all I ever wanted was the Saints to GET to the SB and witnessing that game was by far the most amazing experience.
Choosing between 06 and 09 is impossible for me. Loved them both.
Also this game isn’t quite there but watching Bill Belicheck throw in the towel against us I’m getting goosebumps now.

Same. For so long it was all about getting to the Super Bowl. To finally see that dream realized was amazing.

I picked Hakim dropped the ball since winning a playoff game had escaped us until that moment. Prior monkey was just getting into the playoff which had happened numerous times but this was the huge elephant in the room that until then had not happened. On top of that we beat the greatest show on turf.
Also, the Rams scored 21 points in the 4th and we all thought that after we punted the ball back to them they would score a TD and win the game.

Easily the 2006 Atlanta game. I bought 2 tickets in the Plaza on the 50yd line for $400. That game was deafening. I couldn't talk for a few days afterwards. It was amazing. Something you would never forget.
The NFCCG would be second.

THeres nothing quite like watching your team clinch a super bowl victory in your home city. Winning is even more pleasant when you think Favre is driving down to kick the game winning FG. Only to have porter step in front of the pass. Holy shite. There is nothing better then winning a game you thought for sure you would lose, esp of that magnitude

I missed the SB, and would love to have been there.

Been to all 3 games mentioned in this thread due to having season tickets since 1999. I was too young to understand the significance of the Rams playoff game.
As for 06, I got pulled out of school at 1 o'clock to go downtown bc my dad wanted to make sure we were there for the opening. We were standing about 5 people back and to the right of the Gate C tower thing by the countdown clock. I remember standing from the moment the U2 & Green Day took the field, until 30 minutes after the game ended. Never used the bathroom, never ate, never moved, I had no voice left. Gleason blocked the punt into the endzone where our seats are (sec. 129) and that moment itself was completely unreal.
09 was a different level for me. For the first time since 1999 I was unable to go attend all the home games due to graduating HS and moving out of the state for college. I learned how to stream every single game from my crappy dorm room. Can remember telling my parents to help me book a plane ticket back to NOLA for the NFC Championship game after watching the Saints come back against Miami on the road. Idk how to explain it, but I just knew after that game that they were going to play the NFC championship game at home, and then go on to win the Super Bowl. Took a lot of convincing for them to fork over the cash upfront to help me pay for a plane ticket in OCT that they both thought would be useless. But it was done and the only game I got to attend that season was the Championship game, and it was probably the best moment of my life up to that point. The emotion in that stadium was of nervousness and anxiousness. I remember leaning over to my dad and saying how can the Saints let this game/season slip away. This is our year... while the Vikes had the ball and driving to win. Then the porter pick. The rejoice. No looking back after that INT. That moment, and the field goal in OT were unreal.
Anyway, 09 Championship Game is the choice for me. I'd love to relive that moment, that entire game over again.
