LE, i'm amazed you think Mariota, Dalton or even Rivers are a worth a better look than Taysom.

I'm more amazed than you rather then over Teddy as well.

Taysom has become a leader of this team in many ways. He knows scheme well and he is a huge play extender and creator.

Uhh, Taysom definitely is an “option”

Payton clearly loves the guy, and we don’t have to give up anything to get him.
They can find a way to make the money work.

Lots of no on that list.
No Rivers, Dalton or Mariota at all unless as back ups or a one year baby sitter for the future QB.

Love is a project to me to ride the bench for awhile. Not a 1st rounder from what I saw. Extremely inconsistent.

Winston is interesting. In my dream world he comes to the Saints on a friendly short term deal and rides the pine to see if he can learn from CSP. Guy has everything you want except pro ball maturity.

Love seems intriguing, but I don't know enough about him to properly judge. I think he shouldn't be on this list, because he can be drafted and one of the above can be the transitional starter for a year or two.

I do think Hill is intriguing, and if Payton is serious about the Steve Young comparison then you have to consider him the next starting QB. That does not mean we don't draft Love or another guy this year. You don't want to bank everything on Hill unless you know for absolute certain he is the real deal.

Not interested in any other an on that list.

Would rather go 4-12 and get Lawrence than be saddled with any of those qb’s.

Correct.

I don't think that record is bad enough to get Lawrence, but it's still the best option.

Why do you think they paid Teddy for one year & play him for 5 games when drew went down?

Chad, Taysom sucks as a QB.

Dalton & Rivers former pro bowlers who could slip right into this system & keep the team competitive.

If you are playing a shot in the dark like you would be with Hill, Mariota would be a much better option under the same umbrella

Is that so we could be in the Lawrence sweepstakes next year?

I'd take dalton for sure

But might as well ride with taysom for a year especially if Payton believes in him
He has seen him the most

If he were serious, Hill would have been his QB2 & wouldn’t have gotten into a bidding war over Teddy

If teddy is the 20th best QB in the nfl, that makes Hill a bottom 3rd nfl QB at best . He’s highly likely not even on of the 32 best QBs in the league.

Sean Payton words say Steve young but his actions say Steve DeBerg

I just don't see what others see in Hill.

Teddy led the team to a 5-0 start....I guess winning is not good enough, let go with the gimmick guy in Hill who looked great against truck drivers, personal trainers, and vanilla defenses in the preseason and on the occasional pass every 6 games.....

Like I asked above, why was Hill not the backup if he is the next Steve young?

We can start with that.

This is why I have no judgement on Hill at this point. Payton always plays like a politician, so you never know when he is being honest or not. I look at this offseason in two ways: Hill is the future, then we get Brees 1 more year and transition to Hill or we sign a backup and roll with him as starter; or Payton is blowing smoke, so Hill remains specialist and we draft someone while Brees finishes one more year, or we sign Bridge or Rivers until we get a future pick.

He fought to keep the 20th or so best nfl Qb in bridgewater & started him over Hill when drew went out. He clearly doesn’t believe in Hill. How can anyone have faith in Hill if the coach never did?

You don't see what Taysom brings with his mobility, his toughness, his play extending ability outside of a pocket, and his pure running ability in schemed plays from the position? Are you blinded by his whiteness?

Don't want any of this draft class starting as a rookie (except Burrow but that's not happening).

Rivers and Winston are turnover machines, and CSP may literally kill them for the dumbass throws they make.
