Ian Book is the worst QB you've ever seen in a Saints uniform? You must be really young. This kid is far from the worst. There have been TONS of bad quarterbacks on the Saints.

Considering how improved he looked in camp, expectations for him were definitely higher. And in a real game, he crumbled. I think he'll have next game to prove if he can improve and if not, then it's cutville for him.

Payton sucked at evaluating QB talent in the draft. All the good QBs (Mahomes, Jones, Jackson) he was allegedly interested in he made no moves to secure. All the QBs 3rd round and after have been awful

I've seen worse since 1967 fwiw.
He can become a much better QB but his height is going to be a hard thing to overcome.
If you want to see what he does well watch his pro day. Great rolling out to either side. Not so good on the long ball. If you don't use that I don't see much of a future if your staying in the pocket.
Anyway he will be lucky to make the PS as a lot of qbs will be released on cut day. Like over 1,000 FA players released at once? lol

Wow. Wiki has it all. I thought the list would be much longer, and much worse. For a franchise that struggled mightily for nearly the first twenty years, this is a pretty solid list. Much thanks to Manning and Brees.

In fairness to Penning, he was blocking a 4.7 veteran edge rusher and riding him 10+ years into the backfield as he should on most plays. Many of his issues came with Book taking 10 yard drops, not climbing, then trying to escape the top of the pocket, directly through the pass rusher.

Penning definitely got legitimately beat a few times but remember, Book got sacked 8 times in 20 pass attempts last year with great tackles blocking for him.

Penning will be fine. Book? Not so much.

I hope Penning develops the pass protection game sooner than later, he has the makings of a beast if he gets that together.

The Sean Payton drafting of QBs has to be an all time bad for a 15+year head coach...

I watched every snap both of them took as a Saints QB.

The Billy Joes were serviceable NFL backup quarterbacks.

Book doesnt belong on an NFL roster.

Tough series for Ian Book. Missed Deonte Harty twice. Both would have been TDs

PS for Ian.

Book it.

You wonder when the Big Cut Day comes will there be no QBs with more upside than Book? Maybe we can find a better 4th QB.

He's probably 12 years old and doesn't understand what preseason is.
